Crime Data for CISD – 2006

Instead of simply scanning and posting the crime stats we obtained from Conroe Independent School District (CISD), we would like to use this opportunity to illustrate the public information request process.

Typically a Director of Communications, Public Information Officer or Records Manager will be a point of contact for public information requests. For this particular example, Katherine J. Clark, Director of Communications, for CISD was the point of contact.

We sent Ms. Clark this Public Information Request via email. Remember the Public Information Act gives the public entity 10 business days to respond to a request. Within the specified time period, we received the information we had requested.

We encourage residents of Montgomery County, Texas to request public information that peaks your interest. We also encourage visitors to the Montgomery County Monitor to provide us any public information they may receive so we can publish it for all the citizens of the county to view.
