Montgomery County Monitor (Montgomery County, TX) – At approximately 1:15 a.m. Sunday morning, North Montgomery County Fire Department, Montgomery County Hospital District and law enforcement officials responded to a motor vehicle accident on I-45 northbound just south of the FM 1097 (Willis) exit. Four individuals were injured in the accident. Two were flown by air ambulance to Houston and two were transported by ground to local treatment facilities.Currently it appears one vehicle (Isuzu) lost control while traveling north in the northbound lanes of I-45. After rolling, the vehicle came to rest on its side. While on its side it was struck by another northbound vehicle (Lincoln).
As a result of the severity of the accident, some patients were entrapped in their vehicle.The northbound lanes of I-45 were closed between FM 830 and FM 1097 for approximately three hours.
North Montgomery County Fire Department, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Department of Public Safety, Panorama Village Police Department, Willis Police Department, PHI Air Medical, Memorial Hermann’s Life Flight and Montgomery County Hospital District were some of the agencies represented on scene.
