On September 5, 2007, at approximately 2012 hrs during regular rounds in the Montgomery County Jail to check prisoners, an inmate was found hanging with a piece of torn bed sheet from the neck in the shower of a 24 hours cell.
Life saving efforts were begun and the inmate was taken by Montgomery County EMS to the Conroe Regional Hospital. The inmate was in ICU and died today September 7, 2007.
The incident is being investigated cooperatively by the Texas Rangers and detectives with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
The inmate was a 26 Year Old Male from the Willis, Texas area. He had been incarcerated in the Montgomery County Jail since June 6, 2007, arrested by Conroe Police Department, for an Order of Arrest from the 410th District Court. The original charge was for Possession of a Controlled Substance.
The inmate had been incarcerated in the Montgomery County Jail a total of six (6) times since 2000.
