Aggravated Robbery – Home Invasions (2) – South Montgomery County
On December 28, 2007, at about 9:21 pm, MCSO Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Sunspree Place located in the Alden Bridge Village of The Woodlands, Texas. When deputies arrived the homeowner told them that two (2) possibly black or dark skinned males, forced their way into his residence by breaking out the glass on a back door. The homeowner was forced into a bedroom where he was bound. One male displayed a handgun. Both males looked throughout the home taking various items. The victim was not injured. The victim said that both suspects spoke broken English but also spoke in another unknown language while communicating with each other. Detectives were called to the scene and the investigation is still currently under investigation.
On December 31, 2007, at about 6:50 pm, MCSO Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Linton Ridge Circle in the Alden Bride Village of The Woodlands, Texas. When deputies arrived the resident and her 14 year old granddaughter told deputies that they heard a knock at the door. When the 14 year old opened the door, two black or dark skinned males asked for a person that the victims did not know. The juvenile victim was unable to understand what the males were saying due to their accent. The suspects forced their way into the home with handguns and demanded money and jewelry. The suspects forced the victims into a bedroom where they were bound.
The suspects removed jewelry from the adult victim and then searched the residence. A third suspect entered the home and also went though the home. All three suspects were communicating in an unknown language with each other. The suspects took jewelry, money, and miscellaneous property from the residence.
Detectives were called to the scene and this investigation is currently under active investigation. It is believed that the same suspects are responsible for both crimes. The suspects were wearing dark hooded type sweat shirts pulled around their face and further descriptions are not available.
Home invasion is the forcible entry into a home with the specific intent to attack the occupants, usually for the purpose of theft. Unheard of fifty years ago now unfortunately it is a real possibility for both urban and rural residents. Advice for homeowners by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is to improve the physical security of the home, to keep doors closed and locked to strangers and to comply with attackers if they gain entry. Unfortunately many times a crime or assault is successful prior to the victims having an opportunity to get away or call for help. Having a room to retreat to with a deadbolt and a telephone can gain victims some valuable time. A simple right now action homeowners can take is to keep their car keys nearby where the car’s panic alarm can be pressed.
