MCSO Press Release – SIU Drug Bust

On Tuesday, March 18, 2008, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit (SIU) received a TIP that marijuana was being cultivated inside a residence on Coastal Drive in Willis, Texas. The SIU established probable cause for a search warrant which was approved by Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2, T. Spikes.

The SIU recovered approximately 64 marijuana plants that were being grown in a bed room in the single wide mobile home. Fifteen additional plants were discovered in the yard of the residence. Marijuana that was drying, $ 500.00, .380 pistol and other drug paraphernalia were seized along with the marijuana plants.

A four year old child was found living at the residence in a bedroom next to the grow room. The father of the child was arrested at the scene. The four year old child was released to Child Protective Services who responded to the scene.

The SIU was assisted by DPS Narcotics Service Conroe and MCSO District One patrol.

Child Endangerment – 3rd Degree Felony
