District 1 – Lt. Darrel Conn (North County)

On 03/25/08 Deputy Halbert was dispatched to the 13,000 block of Old Texaco Camp Road, in reference to a Family Violence disturbance. On arrival, a 34 year old male was found to have been assaulted by a 22 year old male. The 34 year old complainant had received a broken arm when he was struck by a metal pipe being swung by the 22 year old. The suspect had fled the scene prior to Deputy’s arrival. This case is referred to the Criminal Investigation Division for follow-up investigation.

Crime Stoppers is seeking information and pays Cash Rewards for details leading to the identification and prosecution of persons involved in these crimes.

On 03/27/08 Deputy Kader was dispatched to the 12,000 block of Andwood, in Willis, in reference to a disturbance in progress. The investigation led to the arrest of a 35 year old male who was found to be in possession of a Controlled Substance (methamphetamine). Referred to the District Attorney’s Office.

On 03/27/08 Deputy Peckne was traveling I-45 southbound at 11:30 PM when he noticed another southbound vehicle as it almost sideswiped his patrol vehicle. Further observation determined the driver may be driving with some impaired condition. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, a 26 year old male, was arrested and charged with DWI. This driver had no driver’s license and no social security number. He was born in Mexico.

On 03/29/08, at 12:04 AM, Deputy Waxler was dispatched to the 15,000 block of East Williams Road, in Conroe, in reference to a motor vehicle accident. The investigation revealed this was a one vehicle accident. The vehicle was occupied by one male driver (occupant) who was apparently passed out behind the steering wheel. The driver was eventually awakened and given numerous opportunities to exhibit his sobriety, but reportedly failed all roadside evaluations. The driver also exhibited a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on and about his person. This driver refused to submit to any additional testing and was then transported to Jail and charged with DWI. A bond of $600 was set by the District Attorney’s Office; pending prosecution.

On 03/29/08, at 2:45 PM, Deputy Kader conducted a traffic stop for an expired license plate. The driver, a 22 year old male, was arrested for Displaying Fictitious Registration insignia (sticker). A bond of $500 was set pending prosecution.

On 03/29/08, at about 8:30 PM, Deputy Degner was dispatched to the 3,000 block of Walker Road, in reference to a Trespasser. This was the second response to this location in a three hour period. A 24 year old male was arrested for Criminal Trespassing after having been warned earlier not to return to the location. A $5000 bond was set pending prosecution.

On 03/30/08, at 12:55 AM, Deputy Moats was dispatched to the 11,000 block of Stonehedge Drive, in Conroe, in reference to a Disturbance in Progress; with weapons. This investigation resulted in two arrests. A 26 year old male charged with Criminal Trespassing. A $750 bond was set. A 36 year old male arrested and charged with Deadly Conduct. A $3,000 bond was set. Both charges are pending prosecution.

District 2 – Lt. Andrew Eason (South County/Woodlands)

On 03/17/2008, 1610, Deputy D. Houstoun responded to an attempt to locate a vehicle which was involved in an accident and then fled. He located and stopped the vehicle. The driver, W/M, 34, could not produce a DL and staggered and almost fell down in an attempt to put his hands on his vehicle. Sgt. B. Herring arrived and administered field sobriety tests which suspect could not perform. He was asked if he had taken any medication and he admitted he had been drinking and had taken Soma, Vicoden and Xanex within the last 30 minutes. Suspect was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, F/3, Possession of a Controlled Substance X 2, SJF.

On 03/23/2008, 2115, Sgt. B. Fitzgerald observed a vehicle swerving from one lane to another. Sgt. Fitzgerald attempted to stop vehicle while it continued swerving and running a red light. Vehicle stopped and Sgt. Fitzgerald asked the driver, W/M, 30, to exit the vehicle show DL and insurance. Driver advised he had no DL and did not speak English, only Spanish. The driver smelled of alcoholic and displayed poor coordination. Deputy D. Hernandez arrived and conducted field sobriety tests in Spanish. It was determined suspect was intoxicated and he was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, M/B.

On 03/27/2008, Deputy G. Fruge responded to a call for a welfare check in the 25600 block of I-45 N. The property manager advised there were 2 Hispanic males passed out in the laundry room. Deputy Fruge observed both suspects passed out with empty wine bottles around them. EMS was requested and checked both suspects and they were released and arrested for Public Intoxication.

District 3 – Lt. Jim Fleming (East County)

On March 24, Corporal K. Hayden conducted a traffic stop in the area of Hwy 59 and Roman Forest Blvd. During the investigation the Deputy discovered the occupants to be in possession of a controlled substance. The 39 year old male and 22 year old female, each from Conroe, were arrested at 10:45 am and transported to jail.

On March 26, Sergeant J. Senn was sent to the 22500 block of Yancey in reference to a burglary in progress. On arrival the Deputy met with the male witness who advised two females had broken into a house. The Deputy checked the residence and found that the door had been forced open and the bedroom drawers had been gone through. The Deputy located the females and detained them. They were identified as the suspects. The females, 19 and 21 years of age, each from Porter, were arrested at 9:00 am and transported to jail.

On March 26, Deputy R. Meredith was dispatched to the 18500 block of Pickering Road in reference to a burglary in progress. The Deputy met with the female complainant who advised a female suspect, her neighbor, had entered her home in the 18700 block of Pickering Road and removed items. The residence was vacant except for these property items. The female left in a white vehicle. The 27 year old female from Porter was located and arrested at 10:40am and transported to jail.

On March 26, Deputy J. Varnell was notified of a theft in the 20800 block of FM 1485, the Food Fair. The Deputy met with the manager who advised a male had taken two beers and went into the restroom. The Deputy found the male sitting in the restroom with a beer in his hand. The male admitted to taking the two beers, valued at $4.22. The male was also found to be intoxicated. A check on the male revealed he had two outstanding warrants, one for an open container and the other for a failure to appear, out of JP 4 Montgomery County. The 38 year old male from Wiley, TX, was arrested at 2:25 pm and transported to jail.

On March 26, Deputy J. Bruce responded to a disturbance in progress in the 21700 block of Deep Pines Drive. On arrival the Deputy observed a highly intoxicated female on location. The 38 year old female from New Caney was arrested at 9:25 pm and transported to jail.

On March 27, Sergeant B. Welch was notified about a suspected gas thief/narcotics offender driving a green truck in the Hwy 59 and FM 1314 area. The vehicle was located and was found to have two different license plates on the vehicle. The male driver was detained for other infractions as well. The female passenger was found to be in possession of a controlled substance. The 31 year old male from Livingston and 31 year old female from Splendora were both arrested at 5:00 pm and transported to jail.

On March 27, Deputy P. Rex was sent to the 21000 block of Briar Timber Drive in reference to a family violence assault. The Deputy met with the male complainant who advised his wife had assaulted him and their sons. The female appeared to be on an intoxicating substance. The 41 year old female from Porter was arrested at 10:15pm and transported to jail.

On March 28, Deputy K. Koonce responded to an unconscious female in the 24100 block of FM 1314. The female was at the McDonald’s drive thru. Medics checked out the female. During the investigation it was discovered the female was in possession of a controlled substance and a dangerous drug. The 56 year old female from New Caney was arrested at 12:30am and transported to jail.

On March 28, Deputy J. Armstrong was dispatched to the Porter Wal-Mart for a welfare concern on a female. On arrival the Deputy observed a highly intoxicated female who was upset over an altercation that occurred in Humble at a bar. Humble P.D. was contacted and it was learned the female had assaulted the bartender. The 20 year old female from Porter was arrested at 6:11pm and transported to jail.

BICYCLE Patrol:
On March 24, Sergeant B. Welch and Corporal K. Hayden were working bicycle patrol in the area of FM 1314. The Deputies responded to CiCi’s Pizza for a theft in progress, arriving in less than two minutes and stopping the subjects who had left without paying. The subjects returned to the diner and paid their bill. The Deputies next stopped a vehicle on a traffic violation and during the investigation the male driver was found to have marijuana in his possession. The 33 year old male from Porter was arrested at 3:45pm and transported to jail.

At 6:24pm the Bicycle Patrol observed a male drinking beer in the parking lot area in the 23700 block of Hwy 59. A check on the male revealed a theft by check warrant out of Montgomery County. The 49 year old male from Humble was arrested and transported to jail. The Deputies then responded to a shop-lifter at the Porter Wal-Mart. The person was cited for the theft. Later the Bicycle Patrol stopped two vehicles on traffic violations and cited the drivers with numerous citations.

Warrants served:
A 19 year old male from Cleveland was arrested at 5:55pm, March 25, in the 18700 block of Hwy 105 East by Deputy J. Armstrong for an assault warrant out of Montgomery County. The Deputy was investigating a disturbance call and stopped the male after he had left the scene. The male was transported to jail.

A 36 year old female from New Caney was arrested at 9:37pm, March 26, in the 27500 block of Peach Creek Drive by Deputy A. White for a theft warrant out of Harris County. The Deputy was investigating a runaway juvenile call. The female was transported to jail.

A 36 year old female from Splendora was arrested at 2:03pm, March 27, in the 26400 block of Carol by Deputy C. Turrentine for a theft of property warrant and two capias warrants all out of Liberty County. The Deputy was on a welfare concern call. The female was taken to jail.

A 47 year old female from New Caney was arrested at 10:05am, March 29, in the area of Hwy 59 and Gabriel by Deputy J. Amstutz for three traffic warrants out of Montgomery County. The Deputy had stopped the female on a traffic violation. The female was taken to jail.

A 34 year old male from Conroe was arrested at 9:53pm, March 29, in the 19600 block of FM 1485 by Deputy D. Rippley for a money laundering warrant and a possession of a controlled substance warrant, both out of Montgomery County. The Deputy was investigation a trespassing call. The male was transported to jail.

District 4 – Lt. Art Galloway (West County)

On 3/25/08 Deputy J. Urban was dispatched to Magnolia Industrial Blvd in reference to a criminal mischief report. When Deputy Urban arrived at the location he met with the complainant who stated sometime over the week-end someone had damaged A/C coils at the Community Center by bending the fins on the coils and busting a few holes in them. The estimated damage is $5,500. Case referred to Criminal Investigation Division.

On 3/26/08 Cpl. F. Webb was dispatched to Crestwater Circle (new home under construction) regarding a theft. Upon arrival Cpl. Webb met with the Construction Manager who supplied the information for the report. The complainant stated that sometime over the holiday week-end 165 pieces of Hardi Plank siding were taken from in front of the property. The cost to replace the construction material is $3,500. Case referred to Criminal Investigation Division.

On 3/26/08 Sgt. J. Moya was dispatched to Hazy Hollow in reference to an A/C unit stolen from a mobile home. When he arrived he obtained information from the complainant and an estimated figure of $3,500 to replace the unit. Case referred to Criminal Investigation Division.

On 3/28/08 Deputy A. Gurka was dispatched to Yellow Rose in Magnolia in reference to a theft. When Deputy Gurka arrived at the location she observed at the rear of the mobile home that all the exterior cable had been cut from the outside of the home and the breaker box. Cost to replace 40-45 ft of copper cable estimated at $350. Case referred to Criminal Investigation Division.

On 3/28/08 Deputy J. Jordan was dispatched to Hazy Hollow in reference to a criminal mischief call. Upon arrival Deputy Jordan met with the complainant (owner) of the mobile home. She had gone to check on her vacant property and found the garage window had been broken. She also discovered the walls inside the mobile had been damaged by kicking. The total damage to the property is approximately $5,000. Case referred to Criminal Investigation Division.

On 3/29/08 Deputy T.R. Slusher was dispatched to Medina Circle in reference to burglary of a habitation/theft (copper wire). Deputy Slusher met with the complainant (who is the care taker of the vacant residence) who stated someone had removed approximately 40′ of copper wire from a meter box located at the rear of the residence. Someone also entered the residence through and open window and removed an air conditioner coil from inside the residence. Total loss estimated at $3,750. Case referred to Criminal Investigation Division.

On 3/30/08 Deputy D. Birch (and partner Deputy T.R.Slusher) was dispatched to Hondo Circle in reference to criminal mischief. Upon their arrival Deputy Birch spoke with the complainant to obtain information for the report. The complainant stated that two vehicle doors on his 2008 Ford Focus had been keyed by unknown person(s). Estimated damage to the doors is $500. Case referred to Criminal Investigation Division.

On 3/30/08 Cpl. P. Smith was dispatched to Mistletoe in reference to a 911 hang-up call. Upon arrival at the scene he observed the disturbance in progress. There was a male (suspect) in the front yard with a knife in his right hand approaching the female (complainant) aggressively. Cpl. Smith was able to get the suspect to co-operate in dropping the knife. The male suspect was arrested and transported to the county jail without further incident. Case referred to Criminal Investigation Division.

On 3/30/08 Deputy T. Messina was dispatched to a theft call on Crown Ranch Blvd. When he arrived on location he met with the complainant who provided information for the report. The equipment storage area had been broken into and a window had been shattered on a John Deere Motor Grader and a pressure washer was stolen. Total loss $315. Case referred to Criminal Investigation Division.

On 3/31/08 Deputy D. Birch and his partner Deputy T.R. Slusher were dispatched to Flower Mound in reference to burglary of a habitation. When they met with the complainant he told he had been gone from the residence from 9/25/07 until 3/27/08. Upon his return he noticed someone had pried the padlock off the front door, entered his residence and removed several items from his home. Items included two A/C units, numerous hand tools, a bed, and a stereo. Someone had also taken a gold 1997 Saturn from the front yard of the residence. Total loss reported at $3,900. Case referred to Criminal Investigation Division and also to Auto Theft Task Force.

District 5 – Lt. Don Lacy (Northwest County)

March 29, 2008 @ 3:36 am. Deputy J. Farmer made a traffic stop in the 14600 block of Hwy. 105 West. One of the passengers in the vehicle had her I.D. in the trunk of the vehicle. When the owner of the vehicle open the trunk the deputy saw a clear plastic bag containing marijuana. The driver of the vehicle said it was hers. She was arrested and placed in the Montgomery County Jail. Bond was set at $500.

March 27, 2008 @ 8:08 pm. Deputy M. Jackson responded to an Aggravated Assault (Family Violence) call in the 20200 block of Pine Lane. The complainant said he was at his home when his cousin approached and an argument started. The suspect(Cousin) hit the complainant in the head with a wooden baseball bat. When the suspect started walking away the suspect tried to run over him with her car. The complainant had a knot and cut over his right eye. He filed charges on the suspect. This case will be forwarded to the Detective Division for follow up.

March 24, 2008 @ 9: 35 pm. Deputy C. Favorat responded to a Burglary of a Habitation in the 11200 block of Kentucky Oaks Drive. The complainant said that the suspect (ex-wife) entered his home without permission and stole over $500 worth of gift cards from his safe. The complainant filed charges and this case will be forwarded to the Detective Division.

March 30, 2008 @ 12:55 pm. Deputy J. Blackwell responded to a Burglary of a Building in the 5200 block of Jackson Road. The complainant said unknown suspect(s) cut the wire on his fence and made entry to his property. The suspect(s) went to his barn and stole a General Powers generator worth $2,095. The cost to repair the fence was $60. This case will be forwarded to the Detective Division for follow up.

District 6 – Lt. David Dottei (Town Center)

On 03/18/2008, 1802, Deputy D. Houstoun responded to the 3000 block of College Park in reference to a 911 hang-up call. After speaking to two complainants and several witnesses, it was determined that two black females were attempting to return a used computer that was placed into a new computer box. Both females refused to identify themselves to Deputy Houstoun and both were arrested for Attempted Theft, M/A and Failure to Identify, M/B.

Deputy D. Weatherford initiated a traffic stop on 03/25/2008, 2252, at Six Pines Drive and Lake Front Circle. After making contact with the male driver, 35, Deputy Weatherford detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his breath. After exiting the vehicle, suspect had bloodshot/glassy eyes and slurred speech. The suspect agreed to sobriety testing and after tests were complete, it was determined suspect was intoxicated. He was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, M/B.

On 03/26/2008, 1445, Deputy C. Tate was dispatched to Adult Probation for a Warrant Service. The warrant was confirmed and Deputy Tate took subject, W/M, 23, into custody.

On 03/27/2008, 1745, Deputy R. Almendarez was contacted in reference to a Maltese dog being taken from the pet store at The Woodlands Mall. The complainant alerted mall security and a female suspect, 28, along with the dog were escorted back into the mall. The suspect had a white male with her at the pet store. He was found intoxicated at the mall. He was arrested for Public Intoxication, M/C and female was arrested for Theft, M/A.

Deputy S. Spencer was dispatched on 03/28/2008, 2219, to 1201 Lake Woodlands in reference to an assault. Complainants met with Deputy Spencer and male complainant explained he had been assaulted by an male acquaintance. Suspect’s brother witnessed the assault and verified complainant’s statement. Deputy Spencer located suspect, W/M, 33, at a bar in the area and he was arrested for Assault, M/A.

F1 = 1st Degree Felony – Punishable by a fine not to exceed $10,000 and confinement in state jail for 5 to 99 years.
