On Friday, July 18, 2008 at approximately 12:20 pm MCSO Deputies responded to a Robbery in progress at Amegy Bank, located inside Kroger (295 Sawdust Road in South Montgomery County). Deputies met with Amegy Bank employees and witnesses who reported that two black male suspects exited a black Dodge Durango which was parked at the front of the business. The driver (B/M) remained in the vehicle. One suspect brandished an “SKS” style rifle and the other suspect brandished an automatic pistol.
Both suspects confronted the tellers within the Amegy Bank and ordered the vault to be opened. The suspects fled the scene with approximately $96,000.00. The Dodge Durango used by the suspects was recovered approximately one half mile south of the scene. The suspects were not located.
Suspect 1 was described as wearing blue “jump suit” style clothing, red bandana covering his face and sunglasses.
Suspect 2 was described as having a black rag over his face and baseball cap.
Suspect 3 was the driver of the Dodge Durango (no description other than black male).
