Vehicle Accident, Entrapment at Woodlands Mall

The Woodlands, Texas (Montgomery County Monitor) – At 11:15 p.m. Friday night, a two car motor vehicle accident occurred at The Woodlands Mall.

According to Trooper Valdez, with the Department of Public Safety, both vehicles were traveling eastbound on the “Ring Road” near Fleming’s Steakhouse. A black sports car attempted to make a U-turn directly in front of a silver passenger vehicle. Witnesses on-scene reported the headlights on the silver passenger vehicle were not on at the time of the incident.

The force of the collision caused the driver of the sports car to become entrapped in the wreckage. Woodlands Fire Department personnel, including their Heavy Rescue Team, responded to the scene in order to extricate the driver. The patient was entrapped for approximately 15 minutes while the driver-side door of his vehicle was removed.

Due to the severity of his injuries, the driver of the sports car was transported by air ambulance to a Houston treatment facility. The driver of the silver passenger car was transported by ground to a local hospital.
