MCSO Press Release – Weekly Blotter 08-12-08

District 1 – Lt. Darrel Conn (North County)

On 08/08/08, Sergeant C. Rogers was dispatched to 9800 Lazy Oaks in reference to a suspicious person. On arrival, the suspect, white male, 24 years of age, was found attempting to hide near a rear window of a residence. Sgt. Rogers detained the individual and later located several items of stolen stash near the front gate to the property. This suspect was also found to be in Possession of Marijuana and a Controlled Substance. Three charges were filed.
1) Burglary of a Habitation – Felony 2 degree
2) Possession of a Controlled Substance – Misdemeanor “A”
3) Possession of Marijuana – Misdemeanor “B”

On 08/05/08, at 06:00 hours, Corporal Bonner responded to an Assault Family Violence. A 28 year old male was arrested after he had reportedly assaulted his common-law wife, by attempting to physically remove her from the residence. The female complainant exhibited a large abrasion to her head. Charge – Assault – Family Violence – “A”

On 08/06/08, at 11:30 A/M, Deputy Peckne was checking on a suspicious person and vehicle near the 13,000 block of Rose Road, in Conroe, when the individual gave a fictitious name and failed to properly identify. This person was identified as 25 year old Michael Bradford. He was arrested and charged with:

1) Warrant – Driving While License Invalid
2) Warrant – Possession of Marijuana
3) Fictitious Registration – Vehicle
4) Invalid Motor Vehicle Inspection (Fictitious)
5) Possession of Identifying Information
6) Fail to Identify (Fugitive)

On 08/07/08, a 43 year old male was arrested from 10600 Redbud, in Conroe, after he assaulted family members. Sergeant Rogers arrived on scene to investigate when the 43 year old male complained of chest pains. He was transported to E.R. by ambulance. On his arrival, he reportedly caused another disturbance with the Hospital Staff and walked out against medical advice. Once outside he telephoned his residence and reportedly threatened to shoot five persons on location. Deputies returned and found the 43 year old back at the residence, sitting on the couch, smoking cigarettes and apparently intoxicated. This individual was now reportedly argumentative to MCSO personnel and Jail staff. Charges of Assault – Family Violence and Terroristic Threat were filed.

On 08/08/08, at 11:00 P/M, Deputy Kader located a 24 year old male and found him to be in Possession of Methamphetamine. This individual was also found to have multiple active warrants from the City of Pearland, Texas. He was arrested and transported at 11:30 A/M.

On 08/08/08, Deputy Halbert attempted to conduct a traffic stop when the driver of the suspect vehicle refused to stop. A short pursuit incurred until the fleeing suspect lost control and wrecked his 2002 Dodge pickup in the trees. The suspect, a 35 year old male, was not injured and was taken into custody for Evading Arrest with a Motor Vehicle.

District 2 – Lt. Andrew Eason (South County/Woodlands)

On 08-04-08 at about 1528 hours, MCSO was dispatched to assist Harris County Sheriff officer who was following a stolen vehicle in to Montgomery County. Cpl. Staggs caught up with the stolen vehicle and pursued the suspect, at a high rate of speed, to a residence on Ivey St. After stopping the vehicle the officers also found one rolled marijuana cigarette and a loose bud of marijuana. The suspect, B/M 36, was arrested for stealing a motor vehicle, evading arrest in a motor vehicle, and possession of marijuana.

On 08/05/08 at approximately 0959 hours, Deputy Woodrick was dispatched to Sawdust Rd. in reference to Forgery of a prescription. The pharmacist stated that she confirmed the prescription was altered with the doctor’s office and would like to press charges. The suspect, WF 34, was confronted by the deputy and she stated the prescription was altered but not by her. She refused to say who altered the prescription. The suspect was then arrested for forgery of a prescription.

On 08/08/08 at about 0220 hours, Deputy Bishop was dispatched to a Burglary at Bushwood Place. While enroute to the call, the officer noticed a vehicle matching the description of a vehicle involved in several burglaries in the area driving at a high rate of speed. Deputy Bishop conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. The driver was combative and had a strong odor of marijuana about his person. While conducting an interview with the suspect, Sgt Jenkins walked up to the vehicle and observed a clear plastic baggy containing a green leafy substance in plain view. When the driver was asked about the substance he stated that there was just marijuana in the vehicle. Suspect, W/M 18, was arrested for possession of marijuana.

District 3 – Lt. Jim Fleming (East County)

On August 4, Deputy C. Evans observed a black pickup truck in the ditch in the 20000 block of FM 1314. The Deputy stopped and saw the male driver in the vehicle attempting to back out of the ditch. The male was found to be intoxicated. The 38 year old male from Crosby was arrested at 3:08am for DWI and transported to jail.

On August 4, Deputy J. Armstrong was sent to the 23400 block of FM 1485 in reference to a criminal mischief call. The Deputy met with the owner of the Park and was advised that someone had tried to steal the copper from one of the trailers by tearing the metal siding off. The Deputy was able to locate the suspect and found the male to have an outstanding warrant for burglary of a building out of Montgomery County. During a search of the individual the male was found to have a small quantity of marijuana in his possession. The 31 year old male from Bedias was arrested at 11:15am and transported to jail.

On August 4, Deputy C. Turrentine was dispatched to the ACE Check Cash in the 23700 block of Hwy 59 in reference to a forgery. The Deputy located a male suspect who was attempting to cash a fraudulent check.. The 30 year old male from Splendora was arrested at 2:48pm and transported to jail.

On August 5, Deputy J. Walker was patrolling the Oakhurst subdivision when a white vehicle was observed circling around the neighborhood. The Deputy followed the vehicle and stopped it on a traffic violation in the 23900 block of FM 1314. There were four occupants in the vehicle. The Deputy on approaching the vehicle observed several pieces of copper tubing in the back and front seat areas. During the investigation it was found that the copper had been stolen from a house under construction on Eagle Trace in the Oakhurst subdivision. The four suspects, a 25 year old male from New Caney, a 19 year old male from Houston, a 19 year old female from Conroe and a 19 year old male from Webster, were arrested at 2:41am and transported to jail.

On August 5, Deputy C. Turrentine was sent to the 22300 block of E. Martin Drive in reference to a theft. The Deputy met with a female complainant who advised a female acquaintance took jewelry out of her room. The female’s father went to the suspect female’s residence and recovered the jewelry except for a gold chain. The Deputy attempted to speak with the suspect female when she ran into her house and barricaded herself. After several minutes the female came out and was detained. The 20 year old female from Porter was arrested at 8:57 pm and transported to jail.

On August 6, Deputies C. Curry and P. Rex responded to the 17500 block of Woods Drive in reference to a family violence call. During questioning a male at the scene identified himself and it was found that the male had falsified who he was. The 41 year old male from New Caney was arrested for failure to identify at 12:01am and transported to jail.

On August 6, Deputies C. Curry and P. Rex were dispatched in an attempt to locate a drunk driver on FM 1314 near Porter. The vehicle was located in the area of FM 1314 and Sorters Road. The male driver was found to be intoxicated. The 35 year old male from Conroe was arrested for DWI at 11:30pm and transported to jail.

On August 7, Deputy C. Azwell was notified of a welfare concern in the 14500 block of FM 1485. The Deputy located a female who appeared to be on some type of narcotic. During the investigation the Deputy found the female to be in possession of a dangerous drug and in possession of a controlled substance. The 35 year old female from Splendora was arrested at 10:59am and transported to jail.

On August 8, Deputy C. Azwell was sent to the 20300 block of Lakeside Drive in reference to a criminal trespass call. The Deputy met with Corporal S. Spiller who was detaining a male and a female for possession of methamphetamine. The 20 year old female and 35 year old male both from Porter were arrested at 5:42am and transported to jail.

On August 9, Deputies C. Curry and P. Rex were dispatched to the 20700 block of South Terrace Drive on a welfare concern. The Deputies encountered a male on location who was holding a fork to his stomach and wanting the Deputies to shoot him. The male was highly intoxicated. The 24 year old male from Conroe was arrested for public intoxication at 3:40am and taken to jail.

On August 9, Deputy J. Walker responded to the 21500 block of Hwy 59 in reference to an officer assist. The Deputy met with an out of county Deputy and was advised a male was seen in his vehicle in possession of a small clear plastic baggy that contained a white substance. During the investigation the male was found to be in possession of several baggies of cocaine. The 25 year old male from Cleveland was arrested at 11:08pm and transported to jail.

Warrants served:
A 50 year old female from Porter was arrested at 7:40pm, August 5, in the 24300 block of Ford Road by Deputy A. White for a criminal mischief warrant out of Montgomery County. The Deputy was investigating a disturbance call. The female was transported to jail.

A 54 year old female from New Caney was arrested at 9:00pm, August 5, in the area of Thomas Street and Stewart Street by Deputy J. Guion for a driving while intoxicated 2nd warrant out of Montgomery County. The Deputy was investigating a disturbance call. The female was transported to jail.

A 20 year old female from Cleveland was arrested at 3:10pm, August 6, in the 23500 block of Loop 494 by Deputy D. Rippley for a six warrants out of JP 4 Montgomery County. The Deputy was investigating a theft call and the female had falsely identified herself. She was also filed on for failure to identify as a fugitive. She was transported to jail.

A 44 year old male from Conroe was arrested at 3:30pm, August 9, in the 23800 block of Hwy 59 by Deputy S. Ortiz for a theft warrant out of Montgomery County. The Deputy was investigating a possible wanted person at the location. The male was taken to jail.

A 48 year old female from New Caney was arrested at 4:31pm, August 9, in the 27600 block of Lantern Lane by Deputy D. Rippley for a theft by check warrant out of Montgomery County. The Deputy was investigating a family disturbance. The female was transported to jail.

District 4 – Lt. Art Galloway (West County)

On 8/5/08 Deputy K. Krolczyk was dispatched to Golden Rod in Magnolia in reference to a theft. Upon arrival she met with the complainant who is a supervisor for Northwest Water Systems. The supervisor advised that when he arrived at the well site to take a reading and check the site he noticed the fence cut and a well starter missing from the electrical panel. The cost to replace the electrical starter is $400. The damage to 20 foot of chain link fence is approximately $200. This case referred to CID detectives.

On 8/6/08 Deputy T. Slusher was dispatched to Long Pines in Magnolia in reference to theft of a riding lawn mower. When he arrived on location he met with the complainant who stated he last saw his lawn mower parked under a tarp in the back yard of his residence the night of 8/5/08. The lawn mower was 3 months old and valued at $1100.00. It’s a Husky 18.5hp riding mower, red in color with a 42″ cut. This case referred to CID detectives.

On 8/6/08 Deputy T. Slusher was dispatched to Rhode Island in Magnolia in reference to burglary of a habitation, criminal mischief, and theft of copper. Upon arrival at the white double wide mobile home Deputy Slusher saw that entry to the residence was gained by prying open the front door. He then met with the complainant who is an employee of Sungate Management and she provided detailed information for the report. Total dollar loss reported is $2,500. This case referred to CID detectives.

On 8/6/08 Deputy G. Kerr was dispatched to Dallas St. in Magnolia in reference to the theft of a vehicle. Upon arrival he met with the complainant (owner of the vehicle) who stated she discovered her 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier missing from her driveway at 6:00 am on 8/6/08. She provided a suspect name. The estimated value of the vehicle is reported at $7,500. This case referred to CID Auto Theft Task Force.

On 8/7/08 Deputy J. Herman along with Deputy H. Suarez were dispatched to Sentinel Oaks in Pinehurst in reference to Aggravated Assault (family violence). Upon their arrival they met with the complainant, a witness, and the suspect. Information was provided as to the details of the assault and the white/female suspect was arrested and transported to the county jail in Conroe. This case referred to District Attorney’s Office for the charges filed.

On 8/8/08 Deputy E. Diaz was dispatched to Terri Ln in Magnolia in reference to a theft. When he arrived at the location he met with the complainant who stated that his son had chained his 4 wheeler to a tree in the back yard on the east side of the residence on 8/6/08. The complainant noticed the 4-wheeler missing on 8/8/08 and called to make the report. This case will be referred to CID Auto Theft Task Force.

On 8/9/08 Deputy H. Suarez was dispatched to E. Lakeshore Dr. in Magnolia in reference to a family violence in progress call. Upon Deputy Suarez’s arrival he met and spoke with the complainant, observed the scene and the blood on the kitchen floor. He called for another unit and Deputy E. Diaz arrived and assisted in the investigation and photographing of the scene and the complainant. EMS arrived to tend to the complainant’s injuries and transport her to the hospital for further medical treatment. The white/male suspect was arrested and transported to the county jail in Conroe. This case referred to the District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.

On 8/10/08 Deputy E. Hollan was dispatched to Community in Magnolia in reference to a theft/theft of a firearm. Upon her arrival she met with the complainant who provided information for the report, suspect names, and value of stolen property; 1 jar of misc. coins $285, 1 bottle of pills $50, 1 Smith and Wesson chrome-plated 9MM automatic pistol $900. This case has been referred to CID detectives.

District 5 – Lt. Don Lacy (Northwest County)

July 29, 2008 @ 10:51 pm. Deputy N. Jordan responded to an Assault Family Violence in the 12900 block of Walden Road. Upon Deputy Jordan’s arrival he found out that the suspect had gotten into a fight with his live-in girlfriend and after assaulting her and drug her by her hair to another condo and left her on the porch. He began banging on the door of the condo. The suspect then enters the condo without permission and assaulted the owner of the condo. There were five witnesses to the assaults. The suspect was arrested and placed in the Montgomery County Jail. He was charged with Assault Family Violence and Burglary of a habitation with intent to commit an Assault. The suspects bonds was set at $65,000.

July 31, 2008 @ 1:56 pm. Deputy W. Shotwell met with the complainant and he advised that he had been at a bar in the 14600 block of Hwy. 105 West. The complainant closed his account out and gave the waitress his credit card to pay his bill. The bill came to $130. When the complainant checked his bank statement he found that someone had charged another $159 on it. The suspect also forged the complainant’s name. This case will be forwarded to the Detective Division for follow up.

July 31, 2008 @ 6:32 pm. Deputy W. Shotwell responded to a pharmacy on Hwy. 105 West. The complainant being the manager told Deputy Shotwell that one of his employees was leaving work early due to illness. The pharmacy has a policy that states that any employee when leaving the store can have a bag/smock check performed. The manager said he found one bottle of drugs on the suspect. This case was referred to the SIU Unit for follow up investigation.

August 2, 2008 @ 3:47 pm. Deputy M. Jackson conducted a traffic stop in the 18700 block of Hwy. 105 West. The deputy ran a warrants check of the driver (suspect) and discovered she had a felony warrant for her arrest for Military Desertion. The suspect was placed in the Montgomery County Jail with a no bond placed on her.

July 29, 2008 @ 2:35 pm. Deputy C. Favorat responded to a Theft call in the 23400 block of Landrum Village Drive. The complainant said she had several members of her family and some friends over for a party. She went to sleep on the couch at around 2:00 am. A few days later she discovered that two of her rings were missing. The total value of the stolen rings was $18,500. This case will be forwarded to the Detective Division for follow up.

August 2, 2008 @ 12:30 am. Deputy H. Lowe and Cpl. T. Bybee made a traffic stop in the 26300 block of Old Hwy. 105 West. When the driver (suspect) of the vehicle got out of his car he started running away from the deputies. The deputies gave chase on foot. The suspect was crossing some rail road tracks and fell down causing both deputies to fall also. Both deputies were injured. The suspect was caught and placed under arrest. The suspect was filed on for Evading Arrest/Resisting Arrest and Failure to Identify. The suspects bond was set at $10,000.

August 3, 2008 @ 8:45 pm. Deputy C. Favorat responded to a Theft (of Copper) call in the 26700 block of Old Highway 105 West. Unknown suspect(s) cut a chain link fence and stole over $2,000 worth of copper wiring from the complainant’s electrical sub-station. The cost to repair the fence was $400. There were no witnesses. This case will be forwarded to the Detective Division for follow up.

August 6, 2008 @ 2:03 pm. Deputy J. Enloe responded to a Theft call in the 300 block of Catpaw Trail. The complainant said that unknown suspect(s) had stolen his Lincoln Electric Power Arc-4000 Welder from his home. Deputy Enloe located the stolen welder at a residence. The welder was recovered and returned to the complainant. This case will be forwarded to the Detective Division for follow up and then will be presented to the District attorney’s office for a complaint and warrant to be issued.

August 6, 2008 @ 12:09 pm. Deputy D. Wiesepape responded to a Theft (Vehicle) in the 200 block of East Blue Heron. The complainant said his 2007 Dodge pick-up truck was stolen from his residence sometimes between August 4th and the 6th, 2008. The complainant also said his home burglarized previously but he did not report it. There was a set of keys stolen during the burglary. One of the complainant’s neighbors has a digital recording system and it covers the front of his home also. This will be viewed by the Detectives. The vehicle was entered as stolen and will be forwarded to the Auto Theft Task force for follow up.

August 10, 2008 @ 4:04 pm. Deputy M. Jackson responded to an Injury to the Elderly (Family Violence) call in the 15400 block of Hwy. 105 West. The complainant (90 year old female) said she and her son (suspect) went to a gas station and when the suspect went inside she stayed in the vehicle. She accidentally hit the automatic door locks on the vehicle. The suspect returned and started yelling at her because she could not figure out how to unlock the doors to the vehicle. The complainant finally got the doors unlocked and the suspect slapped her in the face two times. There were witness to the incident. The suspect was arrested and placed in the Montgomery County Jail. His bond was set at $3,000.

August 7, 2008 @ 9:11 am. Deputy R. Garlock responded to a Burglary of a Building, Burglary of a Vehicle and Theft of a Firearm call in the 2000 block of Old River Road. The complainant said he parked his vehicle in a storage building on his property the night before. The building and the vehicle was left unlocked. Unknown suspect(s) entered the building and entered the vehicle and stole two pistols, cash, cell phone, Ipod and some personal items. The total lost of the stolen property was $4,420. This case will be forwarded to the Detective Division for follow up.

District 6 – Lt. David Dottei (Town Center)

On 08/10/08 at 0025 hours, Deputy Conklin, Deputy Hook, and Deputy Koth were dispatched to Lake Robbins in reference to a customer disturbance. The bartender had asked the suspect to leave due to his behavior. About five minutes later the suspect returned. The suspect then gained access to the restaurant again and assaulted the reported. The suspect, W/M 32, was arrested for assault.

District VI officers made six arrests for shoplifting the week of 08/05/08- 08/11/08.
