The Montgomery Co. Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit is investigating two separate reports of attempted abductions of school aged children in the Montgomery County Area.
First incident occurred on 08-28-2008 at approximately 5:00 pm in the Oak Meadows Subdivision in Willis, TX. near a bus stop in the 3700 block of Hickory Lane.
It was reported that a 7 yoa male exited the bus and was approached by two (2) subjects in a faded red 1990’s model Toyota 4-runner while the victim’s mother watched from a distance. The victim stated that the two (2) occupant’s of the vehicle asked the child who he was with and wanted him to get in the vehicle with them so they could give him a ride. The victim’s mother quickly realized something was not right and started running towards her son yelling for him, at which time both subjects got back in their vehicle and fled at a high rate of speed. The subjects were described as both being Hispanic; one (1) male and one (1) female; both of average builds, in their 30’s.
Second incident occurred on 08-29-2008 at approximately 3:45 pm in the Walden Subdivision. A 13 yoa, w/f, riding her bicycle was closely followed by three (3) Hispanic males in a work van.
The victim in this case stated she felt threatened by the male’s presence because the suspects kept turning around and were following her never saying anything to her. The suspect’s in this case were later located, interviewed, photographed, and then released after numerous citations were issued for vehicle infractions. The vehicle was a 1996 white Dodge van with ladders on top.
This investigation has been assigned to the Major Crimes Unit for follow up.
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit is currently investigating both of these incidents but does not believe they are related.
