The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Major Crimes Unit, is investigating the drowning of Martimiano Torres a 37 Y.O.A. w\m from Porter, Texas. Patrol Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Hallett Materials located in the 9500 Blk. of Hueni Road in Porter after receiving a call that an employee had possibly driven in the quarry that was filled with approximately 35 feet of water.
Upon Deputies arrival, they found an area where it appeared that a vehicle had driven off the road and into the water. Deputies learned that Torres had not arrived at his residence and family members were calling to check his welfare. Members of the Pct#1 Constables Dive Team and divers from the Woodlands Fire Dept. were responded to the scene and located Torres’ vehicle in the water. Torres’ body was located approximately 3 hours later in the deep water.
Pct#4 Judge Metts conducted an inquest and ordered his body sent to the Southeast Forensic Center for an autopsy. This case is being treated as an accidental drowning at this time but is currently under investigation by the Montgomery Co. Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit.
