MCSO/SIU Press Release – Narcotics – Ducoing

On Wednesday, October 8, 2008, at approximately 3:30 PM, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office SIU served an indictment warrant on Elena Aranda Ducoing, Hispanic female, DOB: 08-28-1968.

Ducoing was arrested at Splendora ISD where she is employed as a teacher. Splendora ISD Police assisted the SIU with Ducoing’s arrest. The SIU had concluded a 6 month investigation by obtaining indictments warrants for the listed suspect. Evidence obtained by the SIU during the investigation involves suspected money laundering in the millions of dollars, and suspected trafficking of marijuana, cocaine, and methamphetamine.

During this investigation, the SIU collected computers, documents, 10 pounds of marijuana, 3 grams of cocaine, $2,300. 00 in U.S. currency, money counter machine, and other trafficking items used to package and transport currency and narcotics from the suspect’s residence.

The suspect’s husband, Roberto Munoz, was arrested by the SIU last month on the same charges. Munoz has suspected links to the Los Zetas/Gulf Cartel, who is one of the largest most violent drug trafficking organizations in Mexico. They are responsible for numerous murders, kidnappings and other violent crimes in Mexico and in the United States.

The evidence gathered during this investigation was forwarded to the Drug Enforcement Administration who will pursue federal charges on the arrested suspect.

SJF = State Jail Felony – Punishable by a fine not to exceed $10,000 and confinement in state jail for 180 days to 2 years.
F3 = 3rd Degree Felony – Punishable by a fine not to exceed $10,000 and confinement in state jail for 2 to 10 years.
F2 = 2nd Degree Felony – Punishable by a fine not to exceed $10,000 and confinement in state jail for 2 to 20 years.
F1 = 1st Degree Felony – Punishable by a fine not to exceed $10,000 and confinement in state jail for 5 to 99 years.
SFST = Standardized Field Sobriety Test
FSRA = Failure to Stop and Render Aid
