On 02-15-09, approximately 12:30 am, Conroe Police officers responded to a reported disturbance with shots fired call at a local night club in the 2000 block of North Frazier Street. Arriving officers found a large crowd in front of the Straight Gravy nightclub and officers learned one person had received a gunshot wound.
Initial information at the scene revealed that several subjects were involved in a verbal argument in the parking lot in front of the club. The argument apparently escalated and the suspect displayed a semi-automatic pistol and fired shots in the air. As the crowd began to disperse, several persons ran inside the club for protection. The suspect apparently fired several more shots into the building striking plate glass windows and walls. The victim, Kenneth Thomas, 08-04-86, was inside the club and was struck in the back by one of the bullets. Thomas was transported by EMS to Conroe Regional Medical Center. The suspect left the scene prior to the officer’s arrival.
Criminal Investigators and Crime Scene Investigators arrived on the scene and began canvassing the area for evidence and witnesses. Evidence was recovered from the scene and Investigators are currently working on several leads on the identity of the suspect, however, no arrest has been made.
