Murder Investigation
Splendora, Montgomery County, Texas – On 02-23-2009 at approximately 0245 hours, Montgomery County authorities received a call from the Houston Police Department in reference to a 25 YOA female that had been brought into L.B.J. Hospital by her husband. The husband told authorities that he had arrived home and found his wife inside the residence and it appeared that she had been beaten. The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital.
H.P.D. determined that the couple lived in the Splendora, Texas area. H.P.D. investigators contacted authorities in Montgomery County and patrol deputies were able to locate a residence in the 14000 block of Three S in Splendora where the couple lived.
The patrol deputies secured the residence and contacted the MCSO Major Crimes Unit. Major Crimes Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators searched the home.
The husband has been arrested and charged with Murder. He is identified as Jose Garcia-Ticas 02-09-1980 (29 YOA). A bond has not been set at this time and he is currently incarcerated in the Montgomery County Jail in Conroe, Texas.
The victim has been identified as the suspect’s wife, Sabrina Silva, DOB: 09-05-1983 (25 YOA). The victim was taken to the Harris County Medical Examiners Office and an autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
The investigation is ongoing by Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
