On 02-24-09 the Montgomery County Auto Theft Task Force and the Department of Public Safety Motor Vehicle Theft Service Office received information from the Andalusia Alabama Police Department regarding an ongoing investigation of stolen property obtained by counterfeit checks. Investigators were advised by the Alabama agency that stolen property from their state was probably located at the suspect’s residence in Montgomery County.
Investigators were advised that a 16′ low boy trailer, Kubota tractor, John Deere Lawnmower with trailer, Barbeque Pit, and two 32″ LCD Televisions were obtained with counterfeit checks and had been listed by Alabama authorities as stolen.
Investigators proceeded to a residence in the 9000 block of Greenwood Drive, located in northeast Montgomery County. Upon arrival Investigators met with the suspect’s husband and was given consent to search the property.
All of the items listed as stolen from Alabama were located and recovered. Upon arrival to the residence the female was arrested for Possession of Stolen Property and two outstanding Hot Check Warrants.
All of the stolen property was transported to the Auto Theft Task Force to be stored until it can be returned to Alabama.
