MCSO Press Release – Weekly Blotter 04-07-09

District 1 – Lt. Darrel Conn (North County)

On 03/28/09 at 1:30 P/M Deputy Peckne was dispatched to the 19,000 block of Highway 105 East, in reference to a Family Disturbance. A twenty-eight year old male was arrested and charged with Assault – Family Violence – Class “A”; pending prosecution.

On 03/29/09 at 12:30 P/M Deputy Rodriguez was dispatched to Rolling Pines Street, in Conroe, in reference to a disturbance. Complainants, a twenty-one year old male and a fifteen year old male reported that they had been assaulted the previous night as they were leaving a party. Two male suspects, reportedly driving another vehicle, forced the complainant’s vehicle off the road to assault them. This case is referred to the Criminal Investigation Division for follow-up investigation.

On 04/03/09 Deputy Salazar was dispatched to the 19,000 block of Meadow Lake Road, in Cleveland, in reference to an Assault. On arrival, a thirty-nine year old male was taken into custody, charged with Assault – Family Violence. A $1500 bond was set pending prosecution.

On 04/05/09 Deputy Halbert was dispatched to a Criminal Mischief in Whispering Oaks Subdivision. On arrival, Deputy Halbert developed information that an eighteen year old male had been stealing street signs and throwing signs from a pickup truck. A witness reported that he followed the suspect until the suspect ran off the road and got stuck in the mud. Additional street signs were found in the suspect’s vehicle. The eighteen year old was arrested and charged with Misdemeanor “A” Theft. A $600 bond was set.

District 2 – Lt. Andrew Eason (South County/Woodlands)
3/27 – Dep. Martin arrested WM 21 on Bridlewood and FM1488 for DWI. Dep. Martin observed the suspect to be driving erratically and at a high rate of speed (85mph in 55mph zone). During the Field Sobriety Tests, the driver was too intoxicated to follow the instructions and perform the tests correctly. The suspect was then taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

4/1 – Sgt. Altemus arrested WM30 in I-45 at Lake Robbins Drive for DWI (3rd or more). Sgt. Altemus observed the vehicle enter the feeder road at an unsafe speed and changing lanes almost hitting his marked patrol vehicle. Sgt. Altemus conducted a traffic stop. During the Field Sobriety Tests, the driver was too intoxicated to follow the instructions and perform the tests correctly. The suspect was then taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

4/3 – Dep. Martin arrested WM21 at I-45 and Rayford Road for DWI. Dep. Martin had observed the vehicle being driven erratically in the parking lot at 345 Sawdust Road and the driver squealing his tires twice as he exited the parking lot. After the driver exited the vehicle, Dep. Martin noticed the suspect emitted a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage that became stronger as he spoke. He had bloodshot, glassy eyes and had a hard time maintaining his balance. The suspect was then taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

4/5 – Dep. Beasley arrested WF17 on I-45 at the scene of a one vehicle accident. Dep. Beasley received reports that the vehicle had struck a concrete barrier and was driving poorly. A witness stated that when the vehicle finally came to a stop, they approached the vehicle and removed the keys to keep her from driving off again. Dep. Beasley noticed the suspect emitted a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage that became stronger as she spoke. The suspect was then taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

3/31 – Cpl. Russell responding to a tip from Harris County that drugs were being transported to a residence in the Woodlands area. During the course of his investigation, Cpl Russell found the following: 5 grams cocaine, .76 ounces marijuana, 174 Ecstasy pills, 124 Xanax pills, 26 Viagra pills, $2,245 US Currency, and other miscellaneous drug paraphernalia. Being that the residence was within 1000 feet of a school and a playground , two suspects were arrested and charged with Possession of Controlled Substance (Drug Free Zone) Felony-3 and Possession of Marijuana (Drug Free Zone) Misdemeanor A. Both suspects were taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

4/2 – Sgt. Jenkins arrested WM20, after investigating a suspicious vehicle in a park off of Terramont. Sgt. Jenkins located the vehicle in the parking lot of the park at 2339 hours. The park closes at dark. During the course of the investigation, Sgt. Jenkins found 25 Xanax pills, 4 Valium pills, 30 grams Marijuana, a digital scale, and a marijuana grinder. The suspect was then taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

3/31 – Cpl. Staggs responded to a disturbance call on Still Corner Place where a person had broken out a window during an argument. Upon checking the suspect WF21, through dispatch, it was confirmed that the suspect had an open warrant for her arrest. The suspect was taken into custody at that time for the warrant and for Criminal Mischief. She was transported to the Montgomery County Jail without further incident.

District 3 – Lt. Jim Fleming (East County)
On March 30, Deputy J. Walker observed a vehicle speeding in the area of FM 3083 and Quinette. The driver lost control trying to make the turn and the vehicle left the roadway and went into a ditch in the 17200 block of FM 3083. The male driver was found to be intoxicated. The 33 year old male from Houston was arrested at 12:05am, charged with DWI, and transported to jail.

On March 30, Deputy S. Ortiz was advised that Deputy J. Chapa had a vehicle stopped in the 16100 block of FM 1485 and that the driver was intoxicated. Deputy Ortiz went to the location and along with Deputy Chapa detained the male driver. The 36 year old male from New Caney was arrested at 1:52am, charged with DWI 3rd or more, and transported to jail.

On March 31, Deputy C. Evans was notified of a welfare concern call in the 21700 block of E. Hammond involving an intoxicated male. The Deputy located the male and detained him. The 35 year old male from Houston was arrested at 3:36am and transported to jail.

On March 31, Deputy C. Evans was dispatched to the 3200 block of Rockdale Drive in reference to a family violence assault call. The Deputy met with a female complainant who stated she and her step-daughter had gotten into a verbal argument and that the step-daughter had yelled profanities at her and spat on her face and had also taken her cell phone, refusing to give it back. The 20 year old female from Reno, Nevada was arrested at 10:55pm and transported to jail.

On March 31, Deputy J. Guion responded to a welfare concern in the 23800 block of FM 1314 involving a female possibly involved in a theft. The Deputy met with the manager and received information on the call. During the investigation the Deputy received permission to search the female’s vehicle. The Deputy located hydrocodone pills and soma pills. No prescription was found for the medication. The 25 year old female from Porter was arrested at 7:51pm, charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a dangerous drug, and taken to jail.

On April 2, Deputy J. Guion was sent to a trespassing call in progress in the 20800 block of S. Navasota Drive. The Deputy located the male suspect and found him to be intoxicated. The 36 year old male from Deer Park was arrested at 3:00am and transported to jail.

On April 2, Deputy R. Meredith was notified of a theft in the 23500 block of Hwy 59. The Deputy met with the store manager who advised of thefts that had been taking place over several months. The amount of the thefts was $3,065.63. A 19 year old female from New Caney was arrested at 7:00am and transported to jail.

On April 2, Deputy A. Cross was dispatched to the 23500 block of Hwy 59 in reference to a theft. The male suspect had taken items and was later stopped in the 21100 block of Loop 494. Total amount of the items taken was $705.72. The 29 year old male from Huffman was arrested at 2:01pm and transported to jail.

On April 2, Deputies R. Layman and H. Trammel made contact with an intoxicated female in the area of FM 1485 and Mexican John Road. The female was passed out in a vehicle. The 49 year old female from New Caney was arrested at 6:08pm and taken to jail.

On April 3, Deputies H. Trammel and R. Layman were sent to the 23500 block of Hwy 59 on a theft call. The Deputies met with the loss prevention officer who was detaining a male for shop lifting. Total amount of the theft was $105.00. The 39 year old male from Missouri City was arrested at 7:21pm and transported to jail.

On April 3, Deputy G. Harman was notified of a family violence assault call in the 21800 block of Pinebrook Drive. The Deputy met with a female complainant who stated her husband had pushed her several times and hit her on top of her head. The male had been drinking. The 34 year old male from New Caney was arrested at 11:55pm and transported to jail.

On April 4, Deputy C. Azwell observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Ann Street and Russell Drive. The Deputy followed the vehicle to the intersection of White Oak Drive and Vick Drive where several individuals ran up to the vehicle. The Deputy stopped the vehicle and identified the male driver. The male gave the Deputy permission to search the vehicle and 0.36 oz of marijuana was found in a baggy. The 24 year old male from New Caney was arrested at 10:10am and transported to jail.

On April 4, Deputy J. Chapa was dispatched to the 23400 block of FM 1485 for a family violence assault call. The Deputy met with a female complainant who advised she and her boyfriend had gotten into a verbal argument and he had shoved her across the room and was very aggressive toward her. The 32 year old male from New Caney was arrested at 6:56pm and transported to jail.

On April 4, Deputy S. Ortiz was notified of a disturbance in the 23600 block of Hwy 59. While the Deputy was responding to the location, Deputy J. Chapa had a male stopped that was involved in the disturbance in the 22200 block of Hwy 59. Deputy Ortiz arrived and found the male to be intoxicated. The 20 year old male from Houston was arrested at 8:44pm, charged with DWI, and transported to jail.

On April 5, Deputy D. LeBeau was sent to the 26800 block of Peach Creek Drive for a disturbance in progress. Two males were in an argument over animals coming into one of the male’s yard. One male had struck the other with a crow bar two times on the head. The 55 year old male from New Caney was arrested at 5:00pm, charged with aggravated assault, and taken to jail.

Warrants served:
A 22 year old female from Conroe was arrested at 1:32pm, March 31, in the 16900 block of Springfield Drive by Deputies H. Trammel and R. Layman for a theft warrant out of Montgomery County. The Deputies were investigating a disturbance. The female was transported to jail.

A 45 year old male from Kingwood was arrested at 11:00pm, April 1, in the 21800 block of Whispering Forest by Deputy R. Ashmore for a criminal non-support warrant out of Rains County. The Deputy had received information on the location of the male. The male was transported to jail.

A 30 year old male from Splendora was arrested at 10:58am, April 2, in the 26200 block of East Holly Lane by Deputies J. Armstrong and C. Azwell for a family violence assault warrant out of Montgomery County. The Deputies were investigating suspicious activity in the area. The male was transported to jail.

A 20 year old male from Conroe was arrested at 12:47pm, April 2, in the 14700 block of FM 1485 by Deputy R. Layman for a theft of property warrant out of Montgomery County. The male had been stopped on a traffic violation. He was taken to jail.

A 41 year old male from Houston was arrested at 8:32pm, April 5, in the area of Hwy 59 and FM 1314 by Deputy S. Ortiz for a parole violation warrant out of Harris County. The male had been stopped on a traffic violation. The male was transported to jail.

A 26 year old female from Porter was arrested at 9:29pm, April 5, in the 23700 block of Elmwood by Deputy C. Turrentine for a surety warrant out of Montgomery County. The Deputy was investigating a welfare concern. The female was transported to jail.

District 4 – Lt. Art Galloway (West County)
On 3/31/09 Deputy K. William was dispatched to Decker Drive in Magnolia in reference to credit card abuse. The complainant stated she had several unauthorized charges on her credit card. The total value of the charges at this time is estimated at $20.97. No known Suspect at this time. The case was referred to CID- Detectives.

On 3/31/09 Deputy K. Williams was dispatched to Rimwick Forest in reference to theft of a firearm. When he arrived on scene he met with the complainant who advised that sometime between 3-24-09 and 3-31-09 someone had entered his home and removed a firearm valued at $470. Complainant did not provide officer with a suspect. This case referred to CID-Detectives.

On 3/31/09 Deputy G. Kerr was dispatched to Glen Oaks for a criminal mischief. When Deputy Kerr arrived and met with the complainant who advised that between 3-30-09 and 3-31-09 suspects had removed caps on 10 different fire hydrants in the subdivision. Estimated value $3500. Approximately 650,000 gallons released. This case referred to CID-Detectives.

On 4/03/09 Deputy K. Krolczyk was dispatched to District 4 office in reference to a credit card abuse. Upon her arrival she made contact with the complainant who stated someone had used her credit card between 4-1-09 to 4-03-09 without her permission. Charges were made over the internet. Estimated cost of items charged at this time is $35.. This case referred to CID-Detectives.

On 4/01/09 Deputy J. Herman was dispatched to an injury to a child family violence in Hazy Hollow. When Deputy Herman arrived on scene he met with the Complainant who stated a relative had assaulted her child. The case was referred to CID-Detectives.

On 4/03/09 Deputy N. Zavorski was dispatched to Fox Wood in reference to an assault causing bodily injury. Upon his arrival he made contact with the complainants who advised they got into a fight with each other and no one wanted to pursue any charges. Case closed due to lack of prosecution.

On 4/01/09 Deputy T. Messina was dispatched to an assault family violence in Decker Hill Subdivision. Deputy Messina met with the complainant who stated she got into a physical altercation with her husband which resulted in injury leading to an arrest. This case referred to CID-Detectives.

On 4/6/09 Deputy N. Zavorski was dispatched to Timberloch Estates Subdivision in reference to a home invasion that occurred at 2:00 AM. Suspect made forced entry into Complainant home demanding money. Home owner struck the suspect with a baseball bat. The suspect fled the scene prior to officer’s arrival. Suspect was later apprehended at Tomball Hospital while getting medical attention for his injuries. Suspect was taken into custody and transported to jail in Conroe. Case referred to CID.

District 5 – Lt. Don Lacy (Northwest County)
On 03/30/2009 Dep. R. Garlock responded to the 800 Block of Eva in reference to Unauthorized Use of Identifying Information/Credit Debit Card Abuse. Upon meeting with the complainant he was advised the complainant’s credit card and name had been used in a town in Minnesota. The suspect(s) had used the information to secure a hotel room and presented himself to the clerk as the complainant. The complainant advised he had been in the town in Minnesota and secured a hotel room there over two years ago. He had not authorized anyone to use his credit card account or name. Case referred to detectives for further investigation.

On 03/31/2009 Dep. C. Favorat was dispatched to the 18400 block of 105 West in reference to Deadly Conduct. Upon arrival he met with a pizza delivery driver who advised she had delivered pizza to a residence on Beech Road. When she arrived on the location an adult male resident of the location pointed a rifle at her, paid her for the pizzas and threatened to kill her and anyone else with whom she worked if they returned to the residence. When the pizza delivery driver left the residence she heard shots fired. She was in fear for her safety and could not tell if the shots were fired at her vehicle. The deputy was unable to make contact with the suspect at the residence. Case is under investigation

On 04/02/2009 Sgt. G. Welch responded to the 5200 block of Pine Haven in reference to Burglary of a Building. Upon meeting with the complainant he was advised a locked storage building on the property had been entered by the suspect(s). The building contained tools and equipment belonging to the complainant. Multiple tools and equipment were missing from their storage location including a pressure washer, chain saw, generator, circular saw and drill set. Case referred to detectives for further investigation.

On 04/02/2009 Dep. T. Shotwell was dispatched to the 11300 block of Grand Harbor Blvd. in reference to Aggravated Assault, Theft and Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle. Upon arrival one of the complainants, security guard, was being treated by EMS for injuries sustained when the suspect had struck her with a motor vehicle. The suspect, a white female age 35, had gotten into an altercation with her mother at a nearby residence. The suspect then fled the residence in the vehicle. The suspect approached the gate as the security guard was attempting to close it and struck the security guard with the vehicle. The suspect continued through the gate and left the area. The vehicle was entered as stolen and On-Star was notified. A few hours later Houston Police Department was notified by On-Star in reference to a possible location on the vehicle. Houston Police Department located the vehicle traveling on I-45 and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The suspect refused to stop and continued back to Montgomery County where HPD was assisted by Montgomery County Sheriff Office, Shenandoah and Oak Ridge Police Departments. The vehicle was finally stopped just South of SH 242 on I-45. The female was taken into custody and the mother’s property recovered along with the vehicle.

On 04/02/2009 Dep. J. Howze responded to the 12500 block of Walden Road in reference to Criminal Mischief of church property. Upon meeting with the pastor of the church the deputy was advised that numerous incidents of criminal mischief damage had been occurring at the location. Letters from the marquis were being removed and destroyed along with windows broken and destruction of playground equipment. The pastor advised adjacent residences were also experiencing problems in the area damaging property. Case is under investigation.

On 04/03/2009 Dep. D. Garner observed a pickup traveling Westbound on Highway 105 West near Old River Road. The vehicle was traveling 78 mph in a 60 mph zone. The deputy turned on his emergency equipment to initiate a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle refused to stop and turned into the Cape Conroe subdivision. The driver finally stopped the vehicle in the driveway of a residence on Lazy Lane where he exited his vehicle and started walking toward the residence. While speaking the driver of the vehicle the deputy observed obvious signs of intoxication. Field sobriety tests were conducted and the driver was taken into custody of Driving While Intoxicated and Eluding Police. The suspect was transported to the MCSO Jail.

District 6 – Lt. David Dottei (Town Center)
3/25 – Dep. Houstoun arrested a suspect, WF 19, at 1201 Lake Woodlands. The merchandise recovered was valued at $90. The suspect was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

3/27 - Dep. Birch arrested a two suspects, BF 21 and BF 21, at 1201 Lake Woodlands. The merchandise recovered was valued at $417. The suspect was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

3/28 – Dep. Birch arrested a suspect, WF 22, at 1201 Lake Woodlands. The merchandise recovered was valued at $522. The suspect was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

3/24 – Dep. Weatherford arrested two suspects, WF 19 and WF 19, at 1201 Lake Woodlands. The merchandise recovered was valued at $333. The suspect was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

3/29 - Dep. Godden arrested a suspect, WF 17, at 1201 Lake Woodlands. The merchandise recovered was valued at $99. The suspect was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

3/30 – Dep. Weatherford arrested a suspect, WF 22, at 1201 Lake Woodlands. The merchandise recovered was valued at $203. The suspect was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

3/30 – Dep. Houstoun arrested a suspect, WF 23, at 1201 Lake Woodlands. The merchandise recovered was valued at $88. In addition, the suspect was found to have a prescription bottle with five (5) Hydrocodone pills in her purse. The prescription was not in her name. The suspect was taken into custody for Theft and Possession of Controlled Substance and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

4/2 – Deputies Cano and Godden responded to a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot at 1100 Lake Woodlands. Witnesses stated that the suspect was looking in vehicles in the parking lot. Dep. Cano and Dep. Godden made contact with the suspect, WM46, and during the course of their investigation found 2 clear plastic baggies with marijuana in them. The suspect was then taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.
