Howard Daniel Ray
On January 16, 2009 the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a robbery at the Amegy Bank located inside the Kroger store at 295 Sawdust Road in Montgomery County. Bank employees described the suspect as a white male wearing dark blue coveralls, a baseball cap, and sunglasses. The male fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money, and was involved in a motor vehicle accident as he was leaving the scene, but was able to leave the scene prior to law enforcement’s arrival.
On May 30, 2009, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit Detectives received a tip that the Walker County Sheriff’s Office had a male in custody on unrelated charges that claimed to have been involved in similar robberies in Harris County, Texas. Major Crimes Unit Detectives interviewed the male and identified him as 34 year old Daniel Ray Howard, who admitted to being involved in the robbery of the Amegy Bank in January.
