Dog Attack

On 09/10/09 Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the scene of a dog bite in the 23500 Blk. of Sweetgum, in New Caney, Texas.

When deputies and EMS arrived around 1337 hours a 3 year old female child was found to be the victim of a dog bite and had injuries to her face and head. The child was taken by Air Ambulance to Hermann Hospital in Houston.

A 27 year old female was also injured and was taken by ambulance to Kingwood Hospital with injuries to her arms and is the aunt of the 3 year old victim

Deputies learned that the aunt was feeding several dogs in the backyard with the 3 year old watching. The 3 year old approached one dog and was bitten several times. The aunt separated the dog from the child and began administering first aid and called 911.

The aunt is receiving treatment at Kingwood Hospital and the child is listed in critical condition at Hermann Hospital.
