The public and news media are invited to attend the swearing-in ceremony for Chief Philip Dupuis on 10-14-09 at 4:00 pm at the Conroe Tower 6th floor. The Conroe Tower is located at 300 West Davis in Conroe.

Chief Dupuis is a 27 year law enforcement veteran and a 25 year veteran with the Conroe Police Department and has worked his way through various divisions and ranks in the Department to his former position of Deputy Chief. Dupuis served 6 years in the Deputy Chief position.

In April 2009, former Conroe Police Chief Charlie Ray retired leaving the opening for the Chief’s position. A search was conducted and a field of 65 candidates applied for the Chief’s position. Ultimately, Dupuis received the nod for the Chief’s position on October 8, 2009, from Conroe Mayor Webb Melder and the Conroe City Council.
