On 10-16-09, approximately 10:25 am, Conroe Police officers and members of the CORT Unit responded to a reported major accident at the intersection Porter Road and South Loop 336. The initial investigation and witness statements indicated the striking vehicle was Dodge Dually pickup and victim’s vehicle was a 4 door Mazda Passenger Car. The driver of the Dodge was apparently traveling at a high rate of speed and failed to stop at the red light thus striking the passenger car. After the impact, both vehicles skidded into two westbound vehicles causing additional collateral damage and injuries.
The three occupants of the passenger car died as a result of the impact. The driver of the striking vehicle was transported to a local hospital by ambulance. A driver of one of the westbound vehicles sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
The occupants of the red Mazda were identified as
Craig Rector, 08-22-59 (driver)
Felicia Hicks, 12-10-88 (passenger)
Freedom Fitch, 07-20-85 (passenger)
The driver of the striking vehicle was later released from the hospital and was identified as Casey McKinley, 06-19-91. McKinley was arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Jail with three counts of Manslaughter.
