In August 2009, the Conroe Police Department received information from within the Department regarding an alleged offense of Tampering with a Government Record by a Conroe Police Officer. The Conroe Police Department forwarded the information to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office for review. Officer Mark Goodman was placed on administrative duty pending the outcome of the initial investigation.
On October 10, 2009, a Montgomery County Grand Jury indicted Officer Goodman on one count of Tampering with a Government Record, a State Jail Felony. On October 29, 2009, Officer Goodman voluntarily turned himself in at the Montgomery County Jail and was released after posting bond.
Officer Goodman is a thirteen year veteran with the Conroe Police Department. As a result of the indictment, Officer Goodman has been suspended without pay pending the result of the criminal charge.
