The public intoxication law is so open. Over the holidays a friend and I were arrested for PI. I believe the officers were over the top, my buddy and I were waking home from the market street area to my house which is in east shore. We told the officers what we were doing and our reasoning. Our reasoning was we are trained to walk,and it was only a mile away. us both being seniors in college have done it for years after football games etc. We were stopped 200 yards outside east shore. We were both very polite and he said we were too loud. If you knew the two of us growing up together that is understandable. We were then held for 16 hours no food or drink or phone calls.”parents found out from calling in missing persons”. Were were shackled an placed in cells with crack heads and people who had category two felony assaults. The big thing that upsets myself and parents is that how could these officers not have the decency to offer us a ride after we explained we were trying to do the right thing. After all we just walked the waterway and paths away from traffic. In my opinion this sends a message most people are better off driving. They had a gentleman in there for DWI he had fallen asleep at a red-light. Now if that message isn’t enough what is? Only 1 DWI after the thousands of people out drinking. And 2 gentlemen arrested for trying to do the right thing. People think the woodlands needs more officers? To do what arrest for jaywalking next?

Yeah, some strange things are happening in South County. I hear that deputies are entering homes without search warrants and demanding that people no longer drink alcohol outside on their lawns. These things are clearly illegal and should be looked into by the media. These things are not rumors but fact.
