We recently noticed a letter which appeared in the Opinion section of The Villager concerning excessive spending on food using public funds.
The letter entitled “Free Meals” questioned spending on luncheons, parties and other items. We believe at least some of the spending the author referred to is data included in The Woodlands Township Non-Profit Fund Transfers.pdf or TWT Check Register Jan. 1, 2008 – June 30, 2009.pdf
Remember, leaders of The Woodlands have a long history of spending the residents’ money on lavish parties, entertainment and food. On January 23, 2007 we documented such wasteful spending with a post we called “Quick and Dirty Links to Wasteful Spending.” Excessive spending included a $30,000+ party which provided The Woodlands leadership with $20.00/gallon lemonade, $20.00 sandwiches and $4.00 shrimp. The Woodlands’ residents also payed $14,000+ to send five people to the Netherlands to accept an award payed for by The Woodlands’ residents.
In 2008 we posted the 2007 transfers of public funds to non profit organizations in a document called twt_donations_2007.pdf. The document shows more than $680,000 transferred to non profits for 2007.
The point is The Woodlands leadership has always justified spending public funds for personal gains.

Good post man Thank you
