Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the report of a robbery at approximately 11 PM on January 8, 2010, in the parking lot Steel City Pizza on Sawdust Road in South Montgomery County. The 7 month pregnant victim had accompanied her family to Steel City Pizza and before entering the restaurant was in the parking lot alone.
The victim was approached by a black male suspect who demanded money from the victim and then was pushed to the ground. The victim screamed for help and her father and employees of the pizza shop ran to her aid. The suspect ran away and was pursued by the witnesses.
The suspect was captured and held for MCSO responding patrol deputies near the Big Lots Store. Before being taken to jail the suspect received medical treatment for minor injuries he sustained while struggling with witnesses.
At this time the suspect has not been associated with other crimes in the area.
