Original Press Release

Homicide
South Montgomery County

At approximately 2:12 AM this morning, December 21, 2009, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s received a 911 call reporting a home invasion on Ginger Trace Drive in the Legions Ranch Subdivision in South Montgomery County.  When deputies arrived they found that one victim had been killed and two others had been injured.

The victim 34 year-old Lisa Lynette Whitt-Ulloa from Georgia, was dead in her home and her 26 year-old husband and 18 year-old daughter were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.  The 18 year-old victim, a Georgia resident, had been visiting the family for the Christmas holidays.  Lisa’s 9 year-old son was not at home and had been spending the night with nearby relatives.

Detectives have begun the tedious task of examining evidence and conducting an investigation into the crime. Major Crimes Detectives assisted by the Texas Rangers and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office have learned that two masked men entered the home through an unlocked door while the family was in the living area and using what could be baseball bats threatened, bound and assaulted the victims.  It is believed that robbery was the motive and at this time it has not been determined what if anything was removed from the home.  At the time of this release a method of escape or vehicle information has not been determined.

The 18 year-old victim was able to free herself after the suspects fled and ran to a neighbor’s home to call for help.  When deputies arrived both the 18 year and her step-father were waiting at the neighbor’s house.  The homicide victim’s husband and daughter were injured, but are expected to be released from the hospital.

The victim and her husband had been married approximately 7 months and only recently moved into the home.
