Home Burglary Suspect Arrested
On January 11, 2010, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a Burglary of a Habitation off of FM 1097 W. The victim reported a large gun safe, containing three shotguns, six rifles, eight pistols, and approximately $84,000 in jewelry taken. Detectives with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office developed leads and discovered some of the stolen jewelry was taken to a Houston area jewelry store shortly after the burglary.
A suspect has been identified, charged and arrested with an initial bond of $100,000. The suspect was found to be on parole for Burglary of a Habitation and his parole status is being reviewed following his arrest with the expected issuance of a Blue Warrant (pre-revocation of parole).
Detectives have also linked the suspect to a burglary of a residence which occurred in February 2010, in the Walden area, where over $225,000 of jewelry was reported stolen. Even though this case remains open it is believed the suspect will be charged in this case as well.
The investigation into these and other burglaries are continuing and Detectives have recovered as of date over $9,000 in stolen jewelry, and seized $19,800.
