MCSO Press Release – Weekly Blotter 3-23-10

District 1 – Lt. Jim Fleming (North County)

On March 17, Deputy K. Underwood was sent to a disturbance in the 18300 block of Hwy 105 East. The Deputy was advised by the operator of the establishment that a male had been belligerent and causing a disturbance and she did not want him there any longer. The male was found to be intoxicated. The 53 year old male from Conroe was arrested at 12:52am and transported to jail.

On March 17, Deputy K. Underwood was notified of a suspicious vehicle call in the 500 block of Robert EE. Lee Drive. The Deputy located thee vehicle which was occupied by three males. AA check on the males revealed that one of them, an 18 year old from Conroe, had an adjudication of guilt warrant that was outstanding out of Montgomery County. The male was taken to jail.

On March 17, Deputy K. Underwood was dispatched to the 700 block of Stone Mountain Drive in reference to a family violence assault call. The Deputy met with a male complainant who advised that he and his common–law wife had been arguing all day long and it escalated while he was cooking in the kitchen. The female became enraged and began striking him. The male received a laceration on his left cheek. The 30 year old female from Conroe was arrested at 9:39 pm and transported to jail.

On March 18, Deputy K. Albritton responded to the 13300 block of Enchanted Court for a family violence assault call. The Deputy arrived and meet with a male, his wife and his mother. The mother advised her daughter-in-law was told to leave the residence and then she came back and grabbed her 8 month old baby girl out off the crib by one arm. The mother-inn-law went after her daughter-in-law fearing she would drop the baby. The male took the baby from his wife. As the mother-in-law got near her the daughter-in-law slapped the older female then shoved her into a wall causing her to injure her elbow. Prior to all this, the male and his wife had been arguing and ended when he grabbed her by the throat and forced her down to the ground where she struck the side of an entertainment center causing her pain and injury. After the investigation was complete, both the 21 year old male and 17 year old female, from Willis, were arrested at 9:56pm and transported to jail.

On March 19, Deputy K. Albritton was sent to the 15500 block of Garrett Lane for an unresponsive female in a vehicle. The female was checked by EMS. The female had taken some Oxycodone and drank vodka. The 52 year old female from Magnolia was arrested at 9:30pm, charged with public intoxication and taken to jail.

On March 20, Deputy K. Berger was notified of a disturbance in progress in the 2800 block of Crockett Martin Road. The Deputy was advised by a female complainant that another female and the female’s boyfriend were intoxicated and had gotten into an argument. The complainant got in between the two attempting to break the argument up. The female suspect bit the complainant’s finger (breaking the skin). The 20 year old female suspect from The Woodlands was arrested at 12:30am, charged with assault and transported to jail.

On March 20, Deputy K. Berger responded to a fight in progress at a bar in the 13400 block of Point Aquarius. Several law enforcement officers from different agencies also responded. Upon arrival numerous males ran off in the woods. Approximately 30-40 persons were involved in the incident. Several were detained. One male was seen pushing and pulling on other persons in the fight. The male was detained. He was intoxicated and belligerent. The 31 year old male from Montgomery was arrested at 3:45am and taken to jail.

On March 20, Deputy K. Berger was sent to the 11500 block of Browder Traylor Road in reference to a family violence assault call. The Deputy met with a female complainant who stated she and her boyfriend had been arguing and it turned physical. The male hit her with a closed fist several times. He later attacked her again this time choking her to the point she could not breathe or talk. The male left the scene and was found in the 16000 block of Plaster Circle. The male was found to be in possession of marijuana after a search. The 43 year old male from Conroe was arrested at 7:30am, charged with assault and possession of marijuana and transported to jail.

A 62 year old male from Conroe was arrested at 7:54pm, March 20, in the area of FM 3083 and Waukegan Road by Sgt. E. Ward for a theft by check warrant out of Montgomery County. The Deputy had stopped a vehicle in which the male was a passenger. The male was taken to jail.

On March 20, Deputy S. Degner observed a one vehicle accident in the 400 block of Stephen F. Austin Drive. A male was seen walking away from the scene and a witness stated the male was driving the vehicle. The male was detained and found to be intoxicated. The 51 year old male from Conroe was arrested at 9:47pm, charged with DWI 3rd or more and transported to jail.

A 42 year old male from Willis was arrested at 10:31pm, March 20, in the 11700 block of Small Oak by Deputy C. Robertson for a theft by check warrant out of Montgomery County. The Deputy was responding to a violation of a protective order on the male. The male was transported to jail.

On March 21, Deputy S. Degner, working DWI STEP, observed a vehicle swerving in the roadway in the area of FM 1097 and Willow. The Deputy stopped the vehicle and found the male driver to be intoxicated. The 44 year old male from New Waverly was arrested at 1:03am, charged with DWI and transported to jail.

District 2 – Lt. Brady Fitzgerald (South County)

– White Male 47 yrs old from Conroe – was arrested for Tampering with a Governmental Record. When asked for Identification during an Assault Investigation, the suspect gave Dep. Gordy a social security card and a pay stub from his place of employment. Dep. Gordy immediately recognized the social security card to be fictitious, due to numerous missing security items on the card. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

3/18 – White Female 14 yrs old from Magnolia – was arrested for Shoplifting at 32938 FM 2978. The recovered merchandise (5 items) was valued at $58.95. The suspect was transported to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Facility.

3/21 – White Male 29 yrs old from Conroe – was arrested for Criminal Mischief and Resisting Arrest. Dep. Sibille responding to an Attempt to locate a vehicle involved in a criminal mischief call, was flagged down by witnesses at 28099 I-45. Witnesses identified a vehicle parked at this address as the vehicle that had destroyed a church sign on Robinson Road. They also identified the driver and stated that he had entered the hotel moments before the officer’s arrival. Dep. Sibille, along with officers from Shenandoah and Oak Ridge proceeded into the hotel and with assistance from hotel personnel found the suspect. The suspect resisted attempts by the officers to restrain him. The suspect was then transported to the Montgomery County Jail where it was determined that he had an active warrant for his arrest out of Lubbock County.

District 3 – Lt. Darrel Conn (East County)
On 3/10/10 Deputy Walker was on patrol in the area of F.M. 1314 @ Fern Ln. and observed a vehicle swerving all over the roadway. Deputy Walker conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and interviewed the driver. The driver showed signs of intoxication and the Deputy smelled burnt marijuana coming from inside of the vehicle. The driver was given field sobriety tasks and was found to be intoxicated. The suspect, a 19 year old male was arrested and charged with DWI.

On 3/12/10 a Patton Village officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed going north on Hwy 59. The officer requested assistance from MCSO in catching the vehicle and Deputy T. Smith responded. The vehicle was observed driving very recklessly and eventually stopped in the 20000 block of F.M. 1485. Deputy Smith made contact with the driver and he displayed signs of intoxication. The driver refused to perform and field sobriety tasks. The suspect, a 32 year old male was arrested and charged with DWI.

On 3/13/10 Sgt. Altemus was on patrol and was flagged down about a possible drunk driver in the area of FM 1314@ Strausie Ln. Sgt. Altemus conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle for expired registration. The driver was interviewed and was found to have been on the cellular phone. A check of the driver’s license of the driver showed it to be suspended. The vehicle was towed due to not having a licensed driver in the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle an unmarked pill bottle was found in the glove box that contained Soma and Hydrocodone. The front seat passenger admitted to owning the pills. The suspect, a 62 year old female was arrested and charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance.

On 3/13/10 Deputy Ortiz was dispatched to the 21000 block of Briar Lodge Drive in reference to a vehicle in the ditch. Upon he interviewed the driver of the vehicle and observed signs of intoxication. Field sobriety tasks were administered and the driver was found to be intoxicated. The suspect, a 24 year old male was arrested and charged with DWI.

On 3/14/10 Deputy Curtis responded to East Community Drive in reference to Family Violence call. Upon his arrival he met with the complainant who stated that her live in boyfriend had grabbed her by the left arm and twisted it. EMS arrived on scene and advised that it appeared that her arm was broken. The victim was transported to Kingwood ER for treatment. The suspect, a 61 year old male was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault Family Violence.

On 3/18/10 Cpl. Miller was on patrol in the 21000 block of Alden Oaks. Cpl. Miller conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle in the area. Cpl. Miller observed property in the bed of the pickup truck that looked out of place. The driver was found to have a warrant for his arrest. A nearby homeowner came to the scene and identified the property in the bed of the pickup as his that was stolen in a Burglary of his home. Numerous residences were found to have been burglarized by this suspect. The suspect, a 43 year old male was arrested and charged with Burglary of a Habitation and Warrant-Parole Violation.

On 3/21/10 Deputy Walker was dispatched to Valley Ranch Crossing in reference to a Family Violence call. Upon his arrival he learned from the complainant that her live in boyfriend had grabbed her cellular phone and broke it. He then grabbed her by the throat and began choking her. The suspect, a 26 year old male was arrested and charged with Assault by Strangulation, a Third Degree Felony.

District 4 – Lt. David Park (West County)
On March 22nd at approximately 3:30 am MCSO Deputy Zavorski was dispatched to the 31000 Block of Terri lane in reference to a 911 hang-up call. A male caller had called 911 back to advise a female subject had taken the keys to his vehicle and become combative and grabbed his cell phone while he was on the phone with the 911 Operator. Deputy Zavorski located the female and detained and identified her. While searching her, the Deputy located the cell phone belonging to male caller. The female subject was arrested for Interference with Emergency Phone Call and transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

On March 22nd at approximately 10:00 pm MCSO Deputy Hahs and Deputy Zavorski were dispatched to the 26000 Block in reference to a Family Violence/Criminal Mischief call. Upon arrival the Deputies met with the Mother of the two juvenile males. The mother advised that one of her sons had damaged the inside of the house and struck her vehicle causing damage. The other son had become physical pushing her. One juvenile was arrested for Criminal Mischief and transported to the Montgomery County Juvenile Facility without incident. The other juvenile was issued an Assault by Contact (Family Violence) citation.

On March 10, 2010 at 00:05 MCSO Sgt Russell was dispatched to a Criminal Mischief call at 30710 Beyette. Upon arrival Sgt. Russell observed a mailbox on Beyette to be knocked down. The Sergeant followed a trail of fluid on both sides of the roadway in a zig zag pattern to a residence on Logger Lane where he observed a Silver Cobalt with significant damage to the front passenger side. The Sergeant made contact with a 39 year old female at the residence who advised to avoid an accident she had to drive in the ditch and knew she had struck at least one mailbox before traveling home. The female was arrested for Duty Upon Striking Fixture and transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

On March 20th at approximately 4:30 am MCSO Corporal Wienke responded to a Family Violence in progress in the Decker Hills subdivision. Upon arrival the Corporal was met by the male complainant who advised his grown daughter had assaulted him. He had sustained no injuries, but was offended by the attack. The daughter was arrested and charged with Assault by Contact – Family Violence and transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

On March 19th at approximately 3:00 am MCSO Corporal Wienke responded to the Cripple Creek Farms subdivision in regards to a Family Violence in Progress call. Upon arrival Corporal Wienke was advised by the female complainant that she had been assaulted by her husband. She had suffered no injury, but her husband had threatened to burn down the house and brought a log in the living room and placed it on the floor. The female at this point stated she felt threatened by her husband’s actions and words so she called 911. After the Corporal spoke with both parties the male subject was placed into custody for Assault by Threat and transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

On March 14th at approximately 9:00 pm MCSO Deputy Crandell responded to a Disturbance in Progress on Scotty Street. Upon arrival Deputy Crandell met with all parties involved. The witnesses advised that a 21 year old male was on scene and highly intoxicated. The male subject tried to fight everyone who was on location. At one point the male subject tried to hit one of the witnesses who was holding a 2 month old baby in his arms and the male subject struck the baby in the head instead. Several of the males on scene had to hold the male subject down until MCSO arrived. The male subject was charged with Child Endangerment a State Jail Felony and transported to the Montgomery Jail without incident.

On March 13th at approximately 11:30 pm MCSO Sergeant Russell and Corporal Wienke responded to the Clear Creek Forest subdivision in regards to a recovery of a stolen vehicle. The owner had located the vehicle under a carport on the north side of a house in the subdivision. The male subject at this location advised he had been given the vehicle as a form of payment for work he had performed and produced a contract. During the course of the investigation Corporal Wienke found the male subject had an outstanding warrant out of Liberty County for Fraud. The recovered vehicle was released to the owner and the male subject was transported to the Montgomery South County Jail without incident.

District 5 – Lt. Don Lacy (Northwest County)
On 03/17/10 Deputy Rex was investigating the report of a suspicious male in the 15400 block of Liberty Street. During the investigation it was learned that the male was in possession of marijuana. The male was arrested for Possession of Marijuana and placed into the Montgomery County Jail on an undetermined bond.

On 03/20/10 Deputy Jackson responded to the 26800 block of SH 105 W to conduct a Warrant Service. The female subject in question was located, arrested and placed into the Montgomery County Jail for Possession of Marijuana on a $1,500 bond.

On 03/21/10 Deputy R. Thompson responded to the 100 block of April Point S. for the report of an Attempted Vehicle Theft. Investigation revealed a suspect had forced entry into a vehicle and was in the process of compromising the ignition when he was confronted by the owner. The Suspect then fled on foot and was observed by April Sound Security. Shortly thereafter April Sound Secrutiy observed the Suspect driving down April Sound Blvd. The Suspect was determined to be driving a vehicle that was just stolen from the same area. The vehicle owner was contacted and responded to the scene where they took possession of their vehicle. The Suspect was arrested for Theft (Vehicle) and Attempted Theft (Vehicle) and placed into the Montgomery County Jail.

On 03/21/10 Deputy Farmer responded to a business located in the 19300 block of SH 105 W. in regards to an Aggravated Assault. Investigation revealed where two male co-workers were involved in a physical altercation when one of the individuals stabbed the other and then fled the scene prior to officer’s arrival. The Complainant was transported to Conroe Regional Hospital by EMS and was listed in stable condition. The case is under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Division with charges pending.

On 03/21/10 Deputy Durbin responded to a convenience store located in the 15400 block of SH 105 W. for a reported shoplifting Theft. Upon arrival the two suspects in this incident were located in the immediate area by officers and the stolen merchandise was recovered. The estimated amount of stolen and recovered items was $93. One of the male Suspects, a juvenile, was arrested for Theft and placed into the Montgomery County Juvenile Facility. The other male Suspect, an adult, became ill at the scene and was transported to Conroe Regional Hospital for treatment. A warrant for Theft will be obtained for this individual and served at a later date.

District 6 – Lt. David Dottei (Woodlands)

The following Shoplifting arrest(s) were made at 1201 Lake Woodlands Drive:

3/18 – White Male 19 yrs old from Spring, and White Male 18 yrs old from El Paso – The recovered merchandise (10 items) was valued at $1,626.00. The suspects were transported to the Montgomery County Jail. Both suspects were charged with Theft and Possession of Stolen Property.

3/19 – White Female 21 yrs old from Pasadena – The recovered merchandise (3 items) was valued at $94.98. The suspect was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

3/19 – White Female 17 yrs old from Spring – The recovered merchandise (3 items) was valued at $94.98. The suspect was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

The following Shoplifting arrest(s) were made at 3040 College Park Drive:

3/16 – White Male 34 yrs old from Conroe – The recovered merchandise (8 item) was valued at $64.71. The suspect was transported to the Montgomery County Jail. Charges were upgraded to a State Jail Felony due to the suspect have multiple convictions for theft on his record.

3/20 – White Male 48 yrs old from Willis – The recovered merchandise (10 items) was valued at $64.54. The suspect was transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

The following Possession of Marijuana arrest(s) were made:

3/18 12:10 am – White Male 22 yrs old from The Woodlands – was arrested after Dep. Ward observed the suspect’s vehicle to be parked in the middle of the roadway on Hickory Oak approximately 100 feet away from the intersection. Dep. Ward stopped to conduct a welfare check of the driver. During the course of the investigation .04 ounces of Marijuana was found inside the vehicle. The suspect was charged with Class B Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana and transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

3/12 8:50 pm – White Male 17 yrs old of Spring and White Male 19 of Spring were arrested after Dep. Ward observed a suspicious vehicle at Tamarac Park. During the course of the investigation .25 ounces of Marijuana was found. The suspects were charged with Class B Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana and transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

3/16 7:00 pm – White Male 21 yrs old from Conroe was arrested at 6700 Woodlands Parkway. Dep. McCoy responded to a suspicious person call at the address and met with the reportee and witness, who stated that the suspect had rear-ended another vehicle and when pulling into the grocery store parking lot, the witness watch as the suspect threw several items out of his vehicle. The witness advised he went over to see what was thrown from the vehicle and he had found some papers and clear plastic baggies containing marijuana. At that time he called the Sheriff’s Department to report the incident. The suspect was charged with Class B Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana and transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident.

3/19 5:00 pm – White Male 21 yrs old from Conroe – was arrested after a traffic stop in the 2200 block of Woodlands Parkway. During the course of the investigation, a large clear plastic baggie was located containing marijuana and Xanax pills. The suspect was taken into custody for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of a Dangerous Drug, both Class A Misdemeanors.

The following additional arrests were made:

3/19 – White Male 38 yrs old from Houston – was arrested for Public Intoxication at 9595 Six Pines Drive.

3/20 – White Male 30 yrs old from Houston – was arrested for Public Intoxication at 25 Water Way Ave.

3/20 – White Male 41 yrs old from The Woodlands – was arrested for Public Intoxication at 25 Water Way Ave.

    Thank You Sheriff’s deputies for all that you do. You are appreciated by many. You guys do a very difficult job and manage to be the best professionally trained agency too. You reflect the pride of your commanders and department.
