On April 8, 2010, The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residential alarm at a residence on White Rock Road in Conroe, Tx. Deputies located and arrested one of two burglars; the second suspect eluded deputies and escaped. The suspect arrested was identified as Troy Dale Harrison, 1/26/88, from Houston.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division Property Squad responded to the scene and began an investigation. The investigation resulted in the identification and arrest of the second suspect, Ryan Edwards, 12/23/80, also of Houston.
During this investigation it was learned that these subjects would identify potential targets by looking at websites listing items for sale and/or estate sales. The suspects would go to look at the property listed for sale, only to return later to take the property by committing burglary.
Residents should be cautious when listing personal and contact information on these websites, as you too could become a victim.
