Fatal Accident Leaves Car on Top of Building

The Woodlands, Texas (Montgomery County Monitor) – Around midnight last night, a single car accident claimed the life of a 21 year old local man.

According to the Department of Public Safety, Shaun Michael Finley left the road at a high rate of speed just south of Woodlands Parkway on the southbound I-45 feeder road.  The vehicle hit a curb and began to roll, possibly end over end, coming to rest on the roof of a residential structure which had been converted into a business.

Rescue crews arrived on-scene and accessed the vehicle via a ladder truck.  Once crews were able to reach Finley, he was pronounced dead.

Crews then spent most of the early morning removing the vehicle from the structure and investigating the cause of the accident.

DPS Trooper Mike Wheless said speed was a factor in the accident and it was unknown at the time if alcohol may have been a contributing factor.

The southbound feeder was shutdown for approximately six hours during the investigation.

Finley is the son of Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Dwayne Finley.

DPS is continuing the investigation.
