JP 4 Press Release – Animal Shelter Needs Food

EAST MONTGOMERY COUNTY – The Montgomery County Animal Shelter is in desperate need of canned food for the numerous puppies and kittens that are unable to chew the adult food available to them.

The Montgomery County Animal Shelter is funded by the County and by private donations, but still struggles to provide food and shelter for the ever increasing number of abandoned, abused and neglected animals, feeding and caring for an average 500 dogs and cats on a daily basis. Many are still in the puppy or kitten stage when they arrive, with some lost or separated from their mothers before their teeth can handle adult food.

Judge Metts and his staff support the important work of the MCAS and are asking area residents to help by dropping off cans of puppy and/or kitten food at the Pct. 4 Justice of the Peace Office, located at 22354 Justice Drive in New Caney. Office hours are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Anyone with questions should call Kim at 281-577-8432.
