At approximately 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday July 13, 2010, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Special Investigations Unit executed a search warrant at a business located in thee 21200 block of Hwy 59 New Caney,, Texas. The business known as “Marilyn’s”, “Lucky Cat” and /or “Lucky Star” was operating as an illegal 8-liner gambling place.
Six misdemeanor Class “C” citations were issued to customers who were found playing machines and two employees were arrested for felony engaging in organized criminal activities and misdemeanor gambling charges. The SIU investigation confirmed the complaints received from concerned citizens that this location was paying winners U.S. currency.
Additional arrests are expected. The SIU was assisted by the MCSO D-3 Patrol Division, MCSO CID, and the Fire Marshal’s Office.
