Just after 8:00 pm on Saturday night, 7/24/10, Shenandoah Police Officer Mike Ruby ran across a pair of car burglars that were in the midst of a South Montgomery County crime spree.
Officer Ruby pulled into the Outback Steakhouse parking lot located at 18326 IH-45 hunting for suspects after a car burglary had been reported at Pappadeaux’s across the freeway. Officer Ruby had reviewed surveillance video of suspects driving a white Chevrolet pick-up involved in vehicle burglaries during the previous week and decided to check the local restaurants for that vehicle.

As it often does, Officer Ruby’s intuition paid off. Christopher Jamal Wilson and Joshua Edward Williams, 21 year old males from Houston, had just broken into another vehicle when they spotted Officer Ruby. The males jumped into their white Chevrolet pick-up and fled south down the feeder road at a high rate of speed. Officer Ruby gave chase and the thieves lost control of their vehicle while trying to navigate the turn at Lake Woodlands Drive, crashing into the embankment. Williams, the passenger in the vehicle, was immediately taken into custody by Officer Ruby. After a brief foot chase, Wilson, the driver of the vehicle, was taken into custody by assisting officers. Fortunately, no one was injured during the brief episode. Shenandoah Police Chief John Chancellor commends Officer Ruby on his actions; “Mike is a very good officer who uses his experience to his advantage. He did a great job getting these two off our streets. I appreciate his professionalism.”
Property from at least three separate car burglaries in Shenandoah was recovered from the suspects, with a great deal of it being returned to the victims that evening. It is expected that remaining items currently in evidence will be picked-up during the week.
Both Wilson and Williams are regarded as Habitual Offenders. Additionally, the pair had stolen a firearm during their crime spree, which adds to their growing list of criminal offenses. Wilson and Williams were charged with Felon in possession of a Firearm, three counts of Burglary of a Motor Vehicle, and Evading Arrest.
Wilson, who received a $57,000 bail and Williams, who received a $55,000 bail, were each bonded out from the Montgomery County Jail on Sunday.
The vehicle used in the burglaries was seized and the investigation into these suspects’ possible involvement in other area burglaries continues.

These were probably the same guys that broke into my truck at main event…they hit main event pappadeaux’s an dout back about a month ago… Good catch.. Keep Morons like these off the streets… Im pretty sure everyone is tired of Morons stealing what the owner works hard for.
