Neighborhood Patrol

Randall Dewayne Mcelhaney, 25, of Porter is charged with misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana.  Deputy R. Ford arrested McElhaney on June 25 around 2:15 a.m. near the intersection of Loop 494 and FM 1485 in New Caney after discovering the contraband during a routine traffic stop.

David Lee Brezik, Jr., 39, of New Caney was arrested and handed over to US Marshals on a federal probation violation warrant. On June 24 around 9 p.m., Deputy C. Turrentine arrested a driver on FM 1314 in Porter who had a suspended license. The passenger in that vehicle needed a ride and called Brezik to the location of the traffic stop. Deputy Turrentine requested Brezik’s identification to ensure he had a valid driver’s license and a check revealed an active federal warrant for his arrest.

Devin Dale Brooks, 18, of Port Arthur is charged with state jail felony Possession of a Controlled Substance. On June 254, around 3:15 a.m., Deputy J. Brown and Cpl. A. Looza stopped a Dodge pickup near the intersection of Loop 494 and Keith Dr. in Porter. The driver had no license, only an ID card. During routine questioning, Brooks exhibited excessive nervousness, prompting officers to ask if he had anything illegal on his person or in his vehicle. Brooks responded that he had nothing illegal, only a small plastic bag of “bath salts.” His answer was partially true. Deputy Brown discovered a small plastic bag inside the vehicle, but the contents tested positive for cocaine.

Glenn Russell Bird, 42, of Splendora is charged with state jail felony Possession of a Controlled Substance and 21 outstanding JP4 warrants.

On June 22, around 8 p.m., Deputy Juan Chapa conducted a routine traffic stop of a white 2001 Ford F250 pickup and found the driver had nearly two dozen outstanding warrants. Deputy Chapa placed Bird under arrest. An inventory of Bird’s vehicle revealed multiple clear plastic bags containing methamphetamine.
