MCSO Press Release – Marijuana Seizure

Marijuana Plant Seizure

On Tuesday August 23, 2011, The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) seized approximately 10, 000 marijuana plants that were found growing in the National Forest.

The plants were being cultivated in the National Forrest off of FM 1375 near FM 149.  The MCSO Major Crimes Unit received a TIP regarding the crop and SIU worked with the Detectives, U.S. Forrest Service Law Enforcement, DPS Conroe narcotics and DPS Air in locating and seizing the plants.

This grow operation was well planned and is similar to grows being discovered in other parts of the country. Other evidence seized included chemicals, hoses, tools and other growing materials.

While no arrests have been made the investigation is on-going.
