Missing Person – South Montgomery County

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the disappearance of 24 year old T.J. Murray.  Investigators have interviewed family, friends, and acquaintances and have examined phone records, reviewed surveillance footage and will continue to seek information that could help locate T.J.

Today ground searches will continue by the Montgomery County Search and Rescue Team and EquuSearch both working with coordinated efforts guided by Sheriff’s Office Detectives.  The ground searches are near where T.J. was last seen.  Nothing has been found by ground search teams to help locate T.J.

Original Press Release

Thomas (TJ) Murray Jr. (24) was last seen leaving a sports bar on Sawdust Road shortly after midnight on October 19, 2011. 

Murray last spoke with his father by phone around 12:30 AM and no one has heard from him since that time.  Murray’s cell phone was later found near the sports bar in a ditch and his pickup truck was in the parking lot.

TJ is a student at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas and though currently living in Huntsville his family lives in South Montgomery County.

 5’06     140 pounds
 Blue eyes
Red Tee-shirt with while lettering and wearing shorts

Although there are no indications of foul play it is unusual for TJ not to have contact with family members.  Anyone with information about TJ should contact Detective Keith Funderburk at 936-760-5876 (M-F 8a-5p) or Dispatch 936-760-5800 (24 hours).

    This story needs to be kept out there for all to see… what is going on, why no more info from the authorities on what is happening. Praying this case is not going cold! This family wants their son/ brother back…
