MCSO Press Release – Child Shot in Suspected Home Invasion

At approx. 0500 hrs. this date MCSO Deputies were dispatched to the 10400 block of Cude Cemetery Rd. in North Montgomery County. Upon arrival deputies found that a 7 year old male child had been shot. E.M.S transported the child by ambulance to Herman Memorial Hospital, The Woodlands, Texas. The child was later transported to Texas Children’s Hospital via Life Flight Helicopter where he is reportedly in stable condition and being treated for an apparent gunshot wound to the leg.

MCSO Major Crimes and Crime Scene Investigators were dispatched to the scene and have learned the following:

At approx.. 0330 hrs. this date the homeowner was awakened when the burglar alarm went off. The homeowner discovered that the garage door was ajar. The homeowner found nothing suspicious other than the door leading from the garage into the residence was ajar. The door was secured, the alarm was reset, and then everyone went back to bed. Approximately 1 ½ hours later, the family was awakened again with what they described to be a loud boom.  It was then that the family discovered that the 7 year old had been shot and the front door of the residence had been kicked in. Another 13 year old child, who had been asleep in the living room, stated he thought he saw someone dressed in black run from the residence, leading investigators to believe this was an apparent home invasion.

MCSO Investigators have cleared the scene and the investigation is ongoing at this time. Anyone with information regarding this incident may contact Montgomery County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-392-STOP (7867) or Detective John Schmitt at 936-760-5876.

O.K. – Does this story sound fishy to anyone else?
    :wtf:

The alarm goes off, nothing but the garage door is open a bit. (The door between the garage and the home)
Everyone goes back to bed. Then in 1-1/2 hours, someone “breaks down the front door”, but the alarm doesn’t sound and the crashing on the door doesn’t wake up the 13 year old on the couch. Then there’s a BOOM and the 7 year old, sleeping with Mom & Dad is shot in the leg, with a shot gun, but noone else is injured… ??? Really?? Nope, This does not make any sense to me.
