Just after 3:30 am this morning, two black male suspects walked into the Valero convenience store located at 28727 Interstate 45 North in Shenandoah, intent on doing harm. Without warning, one suspect leapt over the check-out counter and struck the clerk in the face with his fist. Meanwhile, the second suspect retrieved a broom from the store’s utility room and then began to beat the clerk about the head, causing a severe laceration and multiple bruises. The suspects demanded money from the register and were also able to make off with lottery tickets and cigarettes.
The suspects are described as black males in their early 20s, both between 5’5” and 5’9” and 140-180 pounds. One suspect was dressed in an orange colored long sleeve shirt, long black shorts, and a black ball cap with a red bill and white logo. The second suspect was dressed in a grey hoodie, long tan colored shorts, and a red ball cap with a black bill and black logo.
A third black male who left the store immediately before the robbery is being sought as a potential witness to the crime. This person was dressed in a dark red jacket, white shirt and blue jeans.
The victim of this robbery and attack was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital – The Woodlands for treatment of his injuries. While not life threatening in nature, neither the current condition of the victim nor his identity is being released at this time.
