The Outlets at Conroe** is hosting the
[center][size=large][b]1st Annual Mini Indy 500 Race[/b][/size][/center]
The event is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and promises fun, food and entertainment for all ages. The event benefits New Danville, an innovate new master planned community providing affordable housing for high-functioning mentally challenged adults.
[b]Admission is free, but donations are accepted[/b].
The event includes:
* Professional racers on a go-cart track.
* A live performance by Jesse Raub, Jr.
* Food provided by the Texas Roadhouse
* A raffle for a guitar signed by Bruce Springsteen
* Conroe Police fingerprinting children / letting them explore a police cruiser.
* Representatives from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines
* A moonwalk

The Mini Indy 500 Race was organized by Del Harris, a well-known race car driver, owner of Gullo Wrecker Service, and father of New Danville resident Derek Denise Hough.
New Danville is located on 42 acres off of Shepard Hill Road, five miles northwest of Willis in Montgomery County. The community allows residents to live independently in a community of their peers with additional assistance such as life skills, education and job training.
