I'd like to thank the administrator of this board for setting up a direct link to the Secretary of State's website (in the area under "Links") right next to the image of the calendar.

Anyone can click on the link and will be brought to a page where they can either sign up for an account OR they can click on the words "temporary login form" at the bottom of the page and they will be brought to a form to fill in with their name, address, daytime phone and email address and then a credit card number. After doing this they will be asked to agree to the terms of the site (agree) and then they can do a search of all the records there.

Each search costs one dollar. No matter how many answers come up. No matter how many accounts or pages you look at and/or print. You are only charged one dollar for each search you do.

Anyone can do this. You can search all Corporation filings, Public Information Reports, UCC filings, etc. You can search by business name, individuals name, registered agent name, DBA name and other ways.

Documents like these give information such as who the principals are in a business. What date the business started. Addresses of the owners (sometimes).

This public resource is a goldmine of information. You will receive an email statement almost immediately after logging off the site that shows the total charged to your credit card.  The only reason they need a phone number is to call in the event that your card is rejected for some reason.
