I received this email: (See Below) is there any truth to this? Has anyone heard anything?
To all of you who live in The Woodlands, please read this and forward to anyone else you know who lives here. In our neighborhood, Golden Sage, and also in Panther Creek, there are some bad folks hanging around. Two African-American females, early twenties, well dressed, and on foot will approach your house and ask to use your phone. They will then call their 2 male companions who are waiting near by with guns and they will come into your home and rob you. On Thursday, the women rang my doorbell and knocked on the door, but thankfully I didn't answer the door. About 5 minutes later I came downstairs and peaked out the window and saw them walking towards the neighbors house 2 doors down. I did not find out until today what the situation was until our neighbor told us what is going on. The police have been notified. If you see anything unusual like this, please call the police immediately and DO NOT ANSWER THE DOOR!!!! We wanted to let you all know so we can all stay safe. Thank you for your time. Feel free to call if you have any questions.

Hi Phil
Welcome to the forums
We contacted the SO concerning this email and they said they did not believe the email contained any substance and could not confirm any of the alleged events in the email.
Therefore, unless or until someone with more direct information concerning the described events comes forward and provides verifiable information, we are going to consider this an unsubstantiated rumor.
Thanks for the post

If anyone has any information, please post. The Sheriff's office has denied, but a friend spoke with the person it happened to and said it did in fact happen.
Thanks,
Kelly

Surely then, this friend of a friend should report it to the authorities.
Did they file a report?
Thanks.

They included in the email a name and telephone number to verify the story on the email. However, I didn't want to post that confidential information online. However, if the FOZ would like it to verify the validity of the story; email me and I will give you the name and telephone number.

Verified report to be a genuine misunderstanding. Authority aware of the story.

I have to say that it's frustrating when someone posts a message – thinking they are helping the situation, but that message is so darned CRIPTIC!!!
Verified report … with who?
Genuine misunderstanding … whose misunderstanding?
Authority aware … what authority?
You waste folks' time by posting something that does NOT progress this "unsubstantiated rumor" beyond what we already have posted here.
If you have time to visit this web site, read the responses, and consider an answer, please be helpful to the situation by posting more than twelve (12) words!

I just spoke with the author of the email.
It was all a big misunderstanding. Apparently the part about the women asking to use the phone is true but the rest of the story is not.
No one was robbed in this particular incident
The author wanted to apologize for sending out the email before checking the incident out thoroughly.
Apparently the SO received the email and had also contacted the author.
