Hi Foz/All,
Since discovering this site (great resource for Montgomery County residents by the way, the local TV news is hit and miss – mostly miss – and extremely watered down) I've definitely been paying closer attention to reports of crime in my area (I in 77380). I'm often left wondering what the "real story" was found to be long after a crime/incident occured.
For example the shooting at the Alexan Woods apartment complex in October of 2009 was said to be a "home invasion" but everyone I've spoken to felt it was a drug deal gone bad type scenerio (highly likely from what I've heard about the resident, neighbors of his posting on these forums saying they'd seen the perps cars parked in front of his apartments many times before the incident, etc.). We usually see the preliminary MCSO press release but never any follow-up.
Is this something that can be requested from the MCSO? I'm curious about the investigation outcomes of quite a few incidents that I've read about here – the shooting at the Alexan Woods apartment just being one of them. It seems like home invasions and violent crimes in general are up in The Woodlands area – I'd like to know how many are random crimes and how often the victoms somehow know or have ahd dealings with the perps.
Thanks again for your work on the site.
