On January 24, 2010, at 6:55 AM Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Woodlands in reference to an assault victim.
The victim, a 31 year old female, told deputies that around 5:30 AM she had been walking in a parking lot on Sawdust Road when a black male in a car asked her if she wanted a ride. Since the weather was cold the victim accepted the offer.
The victim reported that the suspect drove to the Wal-Mart store on Sawdust Rd and pulled into the parking lot and when she asked him to let her out he drove out of parking area and onto Sawdust Road where he went to a nearby apartment complex. The victim said when she got out of the car and tried to leave the suspect struck her with his fist and took her behind a trash dumpster where he repeatedly hit her then sexually assaulted her.
Investigating detectives found that a patrol deputy had stopped a car in the area that met the description of both the suspect and the car that he had been driving.
The victim was able to identify the male driver as the suspect in the offense.
Detective Billy Ballard with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office arrested the suspect today around 1:00 PM at his apartment in the Spring, Montgomery County area.
