MCFMO Press Release – South County House Fire Intentionally Set

A new brick home in Lake Chateau Woods was destroyed in a fire around 9:00 pm Thursday night. When South Montgomery County Fire Department arrived on scene of the fire, located on Tate Street, flames were already through the roof. The home, which was under construction and approximately 80% complete, is a complete loss. Although the fire was brought under control very quickly, several dozen fire fighters remained on scene for over two hours.

Fire Marshal’s Investigators believe that the home was intentionally set on fire and are pursuing several leads. Investigators will be on scene Friday to further examine the scene for evidence as well as interview neighbors and witnesses.
